chapter 27- "Date already!"

kenzie's p.o.v

"Maisy! Please come to that party with me." I begged for the twentieth time that day.

I wasn't really in the mood to go myself but I decided that if I go I'd take her with me.

"I just wanna stay at home and do Korean face masks with Maddie." She groaned.
"I used them all last weekend." Maddie piped up, looking up from her phone.

"She didn't have to know that." Maisy hissed causing me to pout and Maddie to chuckle.

"Just go! High school parties aren't that bad. Anyways, if you go you can keep an eye on kenzie and make sure she doesn't drink too much." Maddie said frowning at me disapprovingly.
"I won't be drinking at all, thank you very much." I said stiffly and then turned to Maisy,"Brynn's going to be there you know."

Maisy's eyes lit up a little.
Truth is, she's had a slight crush on Brynn ever since she met her at my eleventh birthday party.
I hate to be the one to break the fact that Brynn is straight to her so I kinda just play along sometimes. Brynn knows and she finds it flattering.

"A lot of other pretty lesbian girls too." I add, feeling a little guilty for leading her on about the Brynn thing.

"Fine I'm coming. But not cause of all these girls, just cause I want to get a chance to meet your new man before I leave." She said pointing her finger at me.

"Great! Let's go get ready." I said getting up.
"Ughhh." She moaned, shutting her eyes and lying down on the couch.
Maddie laughed,"I'll get her ready. You go change."

I nodded, heading up to my room.
I raided my closet until I finally settled on a black tube top and blue faded jeans.

I curled my hair and put on some slight makeup.
I was putting on some lip gloss when I suddenly got a dm from Johnny,

johnnyorlando- need a ride to the party?

I guessed Maddie was probably too lazy to drop me and Maisy off and Jacob didn't mention anything about taking me there so I typed back,

kenzieziegler- yep Maisy's going too

johnnyorlando- are you ready to leave?

kenzieziegler- come in 5
kenzieziegler- oh and john?

johnnyorlando- yeah

kenzieziegler- how come u didn't just chuck something at the window

johnnyorlando- last time I looked through that window you embarrassed yourself ;)

kenzieziegler-......

johnnyorlando- see u in five

I rolled my eyes, grabbing my phone and going to Maddie's room.
"Are you ready? John's coming in-wow!" I said, my eyes nearly popping out of my head.

Maisy was wearing a bright red dress with some cute nude heels and a red lip.
"She owes me, I did everything." Maddie pointed out.
I chuckled,"Come on mais let's go. Maddie tell mom we'll be back late."

"Have fun girlies." Maddie said blowing us kisses.

Maisy and I made our way downstairs.
"These girls you're making me meet better be pretty. These heels are killing me." She complained.
I rolled my eyes playfully,"it'll be fun I promise and the heels will totally be worth it."

Suddenly we heard the sound of Johnny's car horn.
"There's our ride." I mumbled
opening the front door.

We moved our way towards his car. I opened the door of the passengers seat next to Johnny and maisy went to the backseat with Lauren

"Hey." John said, his eyes trailing down my figure.

We rolled out of the street.

The car ride was pretty quiet and
John hadn't said much to me yet.
I turned to look at him, a little confused.

He probably felt my gaze and gave me a small glance,"how come Jake didn't escort his girl to the party?"
I shrug,"he didn't ask and you're my neighbour so I guess your uber would be more convenient." I said sarcastically and a small smirk formed on his lips.

For a moment of there was silence before he gave me a kind of twisted smile,"you look good."

I felt heat rise up my cheeks,"Thanks."

I let my eyes waver away from his face and noticed he was wearing his usual skinny jeans with a tight black v-neck t-shirt.
I gulped, looking away- not wanting to be caught staring.

"Date already!" Maisy burst out.
Lauren's face broke into a grin, while I glared at Maisy through the rear view mirror.

"Sorry sorry, you took me along to meet the current boyfriend. Won't happen again." Maisy muttered.
I let out a small puff of air and turned slightly to see Johnny's expression.

He was looking ahead with a mix of an amused and thoughtful expression. A smirk was still plastered across his face.

I shook my head, turning to look out of the window.
The way he smirks when someone mentions me and him together really gets on my nerves.
It would help me hold  onto my dignity a lot more if he made the fact that he has a girlfriend more clear to other people.

I mean he makes it really clear to me how obsessed he is with her.
He usually can't go a minute without talking about her when we're hanging out.

Soon we reached Sophia's house and John pulled into the driveway, parking the car outside.

I got outside, walking between Maisy and Lauren as Johnny trailed behind us.

Ooo there's going to be a lot of drama in the next chapter so stay tuned for the next update :))
