Strangled Angel

Chapter Nine

Previously, Trixie and Adrien travel to the Angel World. They meet hurdles as soon as they reach but they learn that Eric has a twin and that the King is trying to capture Trixie to keep her from regaining her memories. Adrien is captured by the King, later freed by Trixie, but they teleport to the Mystic Woods, a safe place for them that contains magical powers. Trixie regains a fragment of her memory and chooses to use the Confession Potion on the King to get to know his weakness in order to regain her memory instantly. Trixie creates the potion but the effects are too weak to work on the king. She looks for an alternative and finds out about Rosetta Smith, an old maid that has worked there ever since the King was crowned and she has the same name as Adrien's grandmother! They plan to meet her and head towards her place.

We hold our emotions back as we see a very familiar face in front of us. Grandma has returned but she doesn't remember us. We will have to pretend we don't know her either.

"Rosetta Smith?", I call out.

"Yes?", she turns slowly and as soon as she looks at my face, she gasps. 

Does she remember me?

"Miss Trixie! It's been such a long time! Many have been worried about you here.", she says with a smile.

"What? Why are you referring to me as a Miss?", I ask her.

She immediately bows. "I apologise. I see you've lost something important to you."

"What did I lose?", I ask her.

"I'm sorry Miss, but I'm refrained from telling you about it. To what do I owe the pleasure to have your company?", she asks instead.

"Ah, I wanted to know the King's weakness.", I say directly.

"Miss, you know the King's weaknesses all too well. How am I to be of any assistance when you already know?"

"I want to confirm if I'm right.", I lie.

"Oh, dear. Miss, it's obviously the King's queen.", she says. "What is to confirm?"

"Where can I find her?", I ask immediately.

There is a moment of silence.

"Miss, I'll be beheaded for speaking such a thing. It was so unfortunate. I cannot.", she says literally trembling.

"You can tell me. I won't let anyone know, I promise.", I say my words delicately.

"The queen... She's was... She died a long time ago. When you were... no no. I mean, you weren't born then, I guess that's why you aren't aware, haha.", she laughs nervously as if she were lying.

"The queen's... dead?", I say surprised. But my heart aches. "Did I know her when I was here?"

"Yes, indeed.", she says almost instantly and shows regret on her face for saying so.

"Why is she the King's weakness when she already has passed away?", I know this is harsh, but I need to know.

"The king hasn't buried her yet. Aren't you the one helping him?", she asks.

"Helping him, of course, yes.", I say.

Rosetta is indeed aging. She knows that I don't know about the Queen but yet she is naive enough to believe that I know about the help I'm providing. Or is she trying to do so on purpose? Give me hints but subtly.

"I forgot what I was helping with all of a sudden. What was it again?", I play a card to find out if she really is forgetful or if she is actually helping me.

"You're helping the King revive the Queen using angelic powers of course.", she says. 

She's helping me. Even in the angel world.

"Right!", I say as if its obvious. 

Adrien has been patiently listening to the two of us talk. He knows he might act emotionally if he says anything, so he stays still.

I thank her for all her help. Adrien and I make plans to visit her frequently from then on and leave quietly.

The Prince is waiting outside as we come out of Rosetta's house that he led us to.

I go straight to the King. Adrien waits elsewhere with Eric while I plan to take my final blow.

Using his weakness, I will have the King give me my memory, now that I know it. If this doesn't work, I will choose to give up.

I've come back to finish this series. Yes, its almost been a year and I'm sorry. But the Story is nearing the end and I realized that it's just about three chapters away. 

The following chapters will be short but mind boggling. So, stay tuned.
