Chapter 3 Part 3

I went downstairs for breakfast, which smelled amazing. Laurance was a surprisingly good cook. We finished up and he got ready to leave. He had to take Dante's place, because he was very sick that day. I didn't mind at all though.

I kept myself busy by cleaning up the balcony. As I was doing that, I saw Laurance in the distance while he was on patrol. I waved at him from afar and continued working. I turned around and picked everything up. Without even noticing, I started walking backwards towards the edge of the balcony.

Before I stopped, my foot slipped, and I fell from the balcony. I noticed that I wasn't in any pain, or even felt the ground beneath me. I looked up and saw a guard, but he had a different uniform on. It looked so unfamiliar.

He put me down and I said, "Thank you so much. It could've been horrifying if I had fell from there, because I'm..." "M'lady, I finally found you!" he said excitedly. He hugged me tight then let me go.

I was so confused and asked, "W – What?" He took his helmet off and dropped it on the ground. I was shocked and said, "G – G –Garroth!" Out of nowhere, he bowed down and kissed my hand.

He said, "M – M'lady... I've been waiting for so long to tell you, how I truly feel about you... how much I – I love you." "Huh? What are you..." He put his hand on my cheek and tried to lean in closer. I tried to gently back away, but he held onto me. He started to slightly let go.

Before he could kiss me, Laurance ran towards me, looking all winded, and said, "My love, are you alright? I saw you falling in the distance! Are you hurt?" I answered, "No Laurance, I'm perfectly fine. Luckily, Garroth, was there to catch me." He barely even noticed Garroth standing in front of me and asked, "G – Garroth?" He turned to him and said, "Well, well, well. If it isn't one of the nine."

In utter shock and anger, Garroth replied, "L – L – Laurance? What are you doing here? M'lady, did he do something to you?"

Laurance said angrily, "Oh, I did something alright. I made her mine, so back off! Did you even get a chance to look at her hand?" Garroth looked down at my hand and saw my ring. He was shocked, but also enraged and said, "W – What! It can't be! No! No! NOOO!"

He yelled and transformed into something completely unlike him. I felt scared, but I also knew who and what Garroth really was. I went closer to him and yelled, "Garroth, stop this! Please!" He yelled, "WHY SHOULD I? DOES YOUR FIRST KISS MEAN NOTHING TO YOU?! I WAS A FOOL TO THINK THAT SOMEDAY WE COULD'VE HAD SOMETHING SPECIAL TOGETHER!" I took a step back. Through his anger he started tearing up.

Laurance pulled out his sword, looking angry. I said, "No Laurance. That won't be necessary." I went closer to Garroth and put my hands on his shoulders. I said, "It's going to be alright. Please, calm down, and just listen to me."

He calmed himself and turned back to normal. He looked deep into my eyes and said, "I – I... I am terribly sorry, m'lady. I shouldn't have reacted like that. D – Do you think we could just, go somewhere and, talk?" "O – Of course. That would be great."

Laurance grabbed my hand and asked, "Are you alright? Do you need me to go with you? I don't want him to hurt you. What was he talking about just now?" "I'm fine, Laurance, don't worry about it. That won't be needed, I'm sure. He seems to listen to reason. I'm just going to talk with him and catch up, if that's okay. I'll see you back home tonight for dinner, and then I'll explain everything, I promise." "Very well." He kissed my hand and I left with Garroth.

What a part! All the drama unfolding! What's gonna happen next?
