Chapter 2 Part 3

Laurance took a deep breath and said, "The Shadow Lord took me away and transformed me into a Shadow Knight against my will. After a while, I escaped, causing me to eventually go blind, because my transformation was not yet complete. To complete it and gain immortality, I must kill the one I care for most. Y – You." "L – Laurance..." He got up and kissed me, as if there was a reason.

"But I would NEVER hurt you, no matter how powerful my dark urges to do so gets. I care for you far too much to harm you. That's a promise, and I just sealed it with that kiss. I'll always be there to protect you. The transformation you saw earlier was my Shadow Knight form, which is fueled and activated by pure rage."

"Laurance, I – I..." "You don't have to say anything, my love. The only good thing that came from my transformation was my eyes. My sight is restored." "I guess that's good."

Suddenly, he said with a smile, "Heh. At least now I can see how beautiful you look in that red dress." I just blushed a bit and looked straight into his now blue eyes.

After a while of just sitting together and talking, I fell slightly asleep next to him, but I barely noticed. I didn't know why, but lying next to him made me feel kind of safe, even though there was a new, dark side to him.

I just knew that he was true to his word when he said that he would never hurt me and that he would always be there to protect me. I decided to trust him and give him a chance.

*Time skip*

I woke up, and it was morning, but Laurance was missing. It started to concern me a lot really fast. Before I got a chance to get up, he appeared with a bowl of chocolate covered strawberries in his hands. I blushed so badly, because he also didn't have a shirt on. I know the room was hot already, but those abs though.😱

He came and sat next to me and we ate the strawberries for breakfast. The strawberries were all gone, but some melted chocolate remained in the bowl. I smirked while grabbing some of it and smeared some on his face.

His jaw dropped, and he looked so shocked, yet he did the same. We chased each other around the room, covered in chocolate and laughing. We just laughed together the whole time.

Suddenly I tripped backwards over a carpet, but luckily Laurance was there to catch me. "N – Nice catch." I said. He replied, "It's probably because you are such a catch, wouldn't you agree?" "Oh, stop it."

"Stop loving you? Never!" I blushed, and he gave me a quick kiss while I was still in his one arm. Finally, he brought me back up. He suddenly looked nervous though for some reason. I asked, "Are you okay Laurance?"

 "P – Perfectly fine. I – I just want to ask you s – s – something." "S – Sure." He asked, "C – Can we go to the docks tonight? I need to tell, no, ask you, something really important." "Uh, sure, I guess." "Great. Now let's go have some fun until tonight." We spent the day together doing all kinds of fun things, like playing some games, going for walks around town and talking to some friends.

*Time skip*

Sunset approached fast. We walked to the docks, once again. This officially became our special spot.

When we arrived, I was so surprised by what I saw there. I gasped and put my hands over my mouth. A candle lit dinner on a picnic blanket with roses surrounding it. I couldn't even get a single word out.

He just took me closer to it and we had a lovely dinner. When we finished, I asked, "What is all this Laurance?" He didn't say anything. He helped me up, held my hands in his and took a deep breath. I felt a little worried.

He said, "You, are the most beautiful, kind, gentle and caring woman, I have ever met, in my entire life. No other girl can be compared to you. Ever since I returned from my disappearance, I've been trying to tell you how I truly feel about you. I – I... I love you, with everything I've got."

I was left speechless and asked, "L – Laurance what are you...?" He went down on one knee and said, "And I want to love you and protect you for the rest of my life, through good and bad times." I was shook. He took out a small box with an engagement ring and asked nervously, "W – W – Will... Will you... Will you marry me?"

Cliffhanger alert! Is she gonna say yes or no, let me know! (LOL that rhymed)
