33 ⦙ Grudges

I sat there in the hospital with my kids or should I say Y/n's kids. I was never around at all really, to watch the kids grow up. It wasn't because of Y/n it was my own dumb actions.

I focused on my career more than family, when I had spare time to see Y/n or the kids I didn't do it. I just went out to events and blew them off.

I didn't think of how things would affect Y/n. She started drinking because she was so stressed, but she never showed it around the kids.

Around them they told me she was always happy and she was alright but now seeing as though were here because she has alcohol poisoning I see things weren't alright.

As soon as I had gotten here the kids questioned my presence verbally, to Y/n's brother Trevon.

"I don't know, seems like he wants to be supportive."He said back to Melanie and Michael.

"What a fine time ain't it."Michael said rolling his eyes as Trevon nudged him.

"Aye, stop we ain't doing that here."He said as he nodded.

"How is she doing?."I asked as I walked to the end of the bed.

"Good, She just fell asleep before you got here. She tried to stay up, but the medicine kicked in but she said if she fell asleep before she got here I would have to talk to all of you."He said.

"What's up uncle Tre?."Melanie asked looking worried.

"Come on we going in the hallway, cause y'all ain't gone act out when I tell y'all this."He said as we followed him in the hallway.

"Alright. So they are going to keep your mama in the hospital for almost 2 weeks and y'all can't stay at the house by yourselves. I can't have y'all come over because the kids are sick and so..your mama said y'all gone be staying with Zion."He said as I was surprised.

"Oh fuck no ba-by."Melanie said shaking her head.

"Melanie stop it!"He said.

"It ain't Melanie fault we don't wanna be around this dead beat piece of shit."Michael said.

"Enough! I'm your father and you two are children and you're gonna give me the damn respect that I deserve!"I yelled at them.

"Yeah Okay, try again Mel and I finna go get something to eat tough guy."Michael said.

"I'm coming with y'all because we need to have a serious talk."Trevon said before they all walked off leaving me to myself before I went back into Y/n's room.

I sighed as I sat in the chair next to her bed as I looked at her, I looked at that beautiful face that I barely see anymore.

We are together but in separate houses mostly because Simon needed all of us to stay together with the project we're working on which is most of the reason I haven't been home much in the recent years.

I missed out on a lot going on the kids life and Y/n's. It was a stupid choice I decided to make and now I'm paying for it.
