Kabanata 4
My Someone
I turned to look at him. For the second time after the accident, I saw him.
Suot niya ng isang white fitted shirt, na bagay sa kanya dahil na-highlight nito ang biceps niya. He's also wearing khaki shorts, and sneakers. He's damn handsome. I can't believe that this man used to love me.
Just like the first time I saw him, my head and heart throbbed at the same time. The pain suffocates me, the reason why I looked away. Kumapit ako sa gate ng school, at doon ininda ang sakit. Right before I could lose my strength, strong arms enveloped around my waist. It was warm, too damn comfortable.
"Are you okay?" he then said, using his baritone voice.
Napakurap ako.
"Y-yeah." I answered. He removed his left arm, while the right one stayed. Hinapit niya pa ako papalapit sa kaniya.
"Let's go." aniya.
Lumingon kami sa guard. Bumati siya dito. Ngumisi naman ito sa amin.
"Welcome back po!"
"Thank you." The guy said politely, before dragging his body to go inside the school, and also, tagging me along.
For a moment, I was stunned. He's here! The guy that I'm trying to remember is here, with me! Well, I guess I need his knowledge.
"Why are you here?" he asked me.
Napakurap ako, mangha pa rin sa presensya niya. "I'm trying to remember someone." I answered. "How about you?"
"I don't know." aniya. "I just found myself coming back here." he added, in a playful tone.
Oh, damn, I think I know why I fell in love with him.
"Look, let's not waste our time fooling around here. Tell me, honestly---" he cut me off.
"Would you still love me the same?" he asked.
Lumakas ang tibok ng puso ko. What did he just say?
"Oh, that was a lyric." agad niyang bawi ng makita ang pagkabalisa ko. Tumawa siya.
Kumalat ang pait sa sistema ko at tumango na lamang. Now I know why I hated him the first time I saw him after the accident.
"Like I was saying, before you interrupted me, why are you here, honestly?" I asked.
"Nagbabaka-sakali."
"Na?" I asked, confused.
