Kabanata 33
Devastated
Trade's plan for today didn't happened because of Fabian. Last night, Fabian suddenly came to my friend's house, and told her that they would be leaving the town for a vacation.
That made me stay in my condo unit for the rest of the day. When the day ended and the moon started to show up, I decided to go outside to satisfy my cravings. I made my way to a popular fast food chain, which offers a secret menu, and I decided to order that. After falling in line and paying my food, with a tray, number, and receipt, I scanned the whole place to look for a perfect spot. It was then when I realized that near my chosen table was a friend I haven't seen since time immemorial. It was Anais.
I slowly approached her table and placed my tray above it. She slowly raised her head, ready to show a bitchy face, which was postponed by the sight of me. I winked and gave her a cheek kiss.
"Girl! What are you doin' here?" she asked and hugged me before lending her hand on her front, an action of invitation. I sat on the free seat and clapped my hands.
"I'm gonna eat! Am I not allowed here?" I laughed before removing my bag. I'm actually surprised to see her here because the last time I checked, she's in Singapore with her family. She's wearing an Ateneo jacket, black leggings and a sneaker. I, on the other hand, am wearing a navy blue hoodie with a big I DON'T CARE print, a cotton high-waisted shorts, and finally a converse original in color white.
"No! I mean, you live here? Around the area?" tanong nito at umayos ng upo.
We talked about what happened when her family migrated to Singapore, while I continued my life here in the Philippines.
"I remember the first and the last time na nagkasabay tayo sa dance night, tapos you were so over with Gian na. Still, you two are friends. Naalala mo ba kung paano ka n---" I interrupted her by pinching her arm above the table. She scowled at me before deciding to shut her mouth. I smiled sweetly.
"How about we continue catching up on your place, over a flute of wine?"
"He even waited for years! Tangina niya!" I exclaimed, drinking for little while now.
I already told her about how my heart ached after smelling his familiar scent. How I wished I was dreaming when he held my arms, though it was a dream I don't wanna forget.
