Everlasting Love
"The nomination for class president is now open," said Ma'am Julienne as she faced us after writing on the board.
Kanya-kanyang taas na kami ng kamay. I find it amazing because last week, when our 1st day came, halos hindi kami magpansinan lahat. And that scared me because I already hunched that this year would be a boring one. But then, the day after that, all of us became strepitous. Nangapa pa pala at muntik nang magkahiyaan noong una.
Tinuro ni Ma'am Judy si Willa para magsalita.
"Ma'am, I nominate Analeigh Quintoz as the class president," anito at umupo. Agad namang nilingon ni Leigh si Willa at binigyan ng matalim na tingin. Tumawa ako.
Sunod na nagsalita ay si Vladimir, "I nominate Herman Basty Venosa, Ma'am."
"Isama mo na ang middle name ko, Vlad," sigaw ni Herman.
"Hindi ko alam!" the latter said and laughed. Nakitawa kami nina Tracy, Ariadne, Alec, at Daryl.
"Anong klaseng kaibigan ka!" saad ni Herman at akmang tatayo nang sinaway ni Ma'am Julienne.
"Herman," anito at nagbabanta ang tono. Agad namang umayos ng upo si Herman at tila maamong tupa tumindig.
"Sino pa?" tanong ng guro kung kaya't muling puma-ere ang kamay ng iba. Inilahad niya ang kamay kay Ami, one of those wonderful friends I've made last school year.
"I nominate Sapphire Coleen Verajuela as class president po," she said before smirking at me. I gave her a glare.
Napag-usapan na naming magkakaibigan, kasama ang tropa nina Herman, na siya ang magiging class president. Mayroon na rin kaming mga pwesto kung kaya't 'yon na lang ang inaantay namin. Addition to that, I don't want to be the class president this school year because I've had too much last grade level. Ang hirap patahimikin ng mga kaklase ko dahil ako mismo, hindi matahimik.
I closed the nomination for everyone's sake. Agad nagsimula ang botohan.
"Leigh, 6. Herman, 22. Sapphire, 11," saad ni Ma'am at isinulat sa board ang mga tala. Napapalakpak kaming magkakaibigan.
"Your class president for this school year is Herman Basty Venosa," saad ni Ma'am Julienne at tumayo na si Herman para pumalit sa pagsusulat.
"I open the nomination for Vice President," he said and wrote 'VP' on the board.
Nagpatuloy ang nominasyon at umayon ang lahat sa plano namin. Ariadne as the vice president, Dave as the secretary, I became the treasurer and Tracy as my auditor, and Vladimir for sgt at arms. Ang ibang mga posisyon ay hinayaan na namin ang iba ang pumunan. All of us became an officer and that's enough. With that thought, I changed my mind. I think this would be the best school year I'd ever had.
