Zayn: Your son, William, had been staying with your ex-husband Zayn while you went on a four day business trip. After years of being married you decided to get a divorce because you nor Zayn were happy anymore. You both shared custody of your two year old son and now things between you two have been better. “Hey baby,” you say as Zayn opened the door to his house. You noticed Zayn was a bit tired. “Everything okay with you?” you asked as he handed you Will’s backpack with his stuff. “Yeah…everything’s fine,” he hesitates to answer. “Momma daddy crying,” your little boy mentions, causing you to ask him again. “I’ll be fine,” he clears his throat, “…wait I won’t be fine. I miss having you home with our son. I miss having you by my side every morning and night. I miss the old us,” he mumbled. “Zayn we’ve been through this,” you sigh making you way out. “One chance is all I’m asking for,” he says gently grabbing your arm. “I have to think about it. Say bye to daddy baby,” you tell your son before heading home, leaving Zayn hoping you’ll come back to him.
All night you couldn’t sleep thinking about you and Zayn but mostly about your son William. That morning after breakfast Zayn had called you asking if you could go over in the evening to his house to talk about your decision. “Hey champ,” Zayn said while twirling your son as you walked into his house. You were nervous still not sure if the decision you had chosen was the right one. “Make yourself at home. I’m really happy to have you both here,” he smiled, while looking at your son playing with the toys he had taken out of his room. “Zayn about us getting back together I don’t think it’s a good idea,” you state Zayn’s smile slowly fading away. “But I promise things will be different. I’ve changed for you and him.” “Things won’t be the same,” you said interrupting him. “You’re right they won’t they’ll be better for the three of us. I promise they will but please come back here to this house. Our house where you should’ve never left,” he sighed taking your hand in his. “What do you think Will? Should we come back here with daddy?” you asked your son. “Yeah I miss daddy,” he answered walking over to Zayn. You smiled happy that you’d give each other another chance in trying to work things out.
Liam: Your daughter was sitting on the dinner table sad that Liam was late in picking her up. “Finish your dinner so you can brush your teeth baby,” you say putting your fork down. “Daddy forgot about me,” she sighs, looking down. Liam was never late and if he was he’d call or text, but that night he did neither. She slowly got up form the dinner table, grabbed her teddy bear and started crying. “Val don’t cry,” you say taking her in your arms. You stayed like that cuddling, until there was a knock at a door. She was no longer crying but had a smile on her face upon seeing Liam. “You didn’t forget about me,” she cheers running into his arms. “Of course not baby there was just a lot of traffic and my phone died but I’m here.” It made you so happy seeing your daughter smiling and laughing. Sadly things between you and Liam didn’t work out. “See in you in two days mommy I love you,” she waves goodbye. Just as Liam was leaving he mouthed “I love you” something he stopped saying a few years ago. You couldn’t deny it but you missed him more than ever that night.
After Liam and your daughter Valerie, left you took out the photo album you had full of pictures when you and Liam were still married. Slowly flipping through pictures of Liam and Valerie or you and him looking at each other with so much love made you even more upset. You were putting the photo album away when you got a text from Liam. “Are you still awake [Y/N]? xx” “No I can’t sleep. x” You smiled before replying back. You thought he would text back but he called you instead. “Hey,” you say answering his call. “Sorry if I’m bothering you but I just felt like telling you that I can’t stop thinking about you. I know it’s been two years since we got a divorce but I miss you.” “Liam I-,” you begin. “You what. You feel the same way and don’t lie [Y/N] I know you better than you know yourself,” he interrupts you. You spent the night talking remembering all those good times you had lived with together. You finished talking at the early hours of the morning. “I wish we got get all the good times back I really miss them. I’m willing to try again only if you are. I wanna see her happy to have both her parents together,” he yawned. Just before hanging up You both agreed in trying again because you both realized you still loved each other more than ever.
