Chapter 18: Recover

March 27, 2016

Alice's P.O.V.

I woke up with a slight migraine and my body ached with the slightest movement. I looked at Tails who was laying at my side as I buried my face in the softness of his fur. I looked at Mystic Energy as I awakened who was on the opposite side of the room watching me. I knew she was here because of the hunger thrumming through my Gem.

"Sorry, no matter how much I try to open up a link to heal you, the gem ends up just sucking the energy straight to it," she replied. I forced myself into a sitting position, but I didn't look at her, just my Gem. I didn't say anything as I scratched Tails behind the ears. "Are you mad at me?" For a moment, I didn't say anything at all as I tried to understand what I felt toward Mystic Energy currently.

"No," I replied finally, "I was just worried. You didn't seem to handle the loss well."

"I was glad you were there," Mystic replied, "you saved the earth."

"I just wanted to help," I replied.

"And you did," she replied walking closer, "and I think it's time you started your training, young lady." She took a seat on the bed at my side.

"My training?" I asked looking at her confused.

"Well, just because I wasn't around doesn't mean I haven't been thinking about you," she said catching one of my stray hair and fixing it behind my ear. "Now, give me your hand because this is the only freebie you're going to get. The next, you'll have to earn."

"I have enough energy for now," I replied.

"Well, if we want to start training, I have to heal you and for that, you're going to have to take the energy directly from me," she replied. I frowned. I knew how painful that was for her and I didn't like the idea of doing that to her. Not again. "Come on, if everything goes well with training, this might be the last time we have to do this." I gave her an unsure look before I unbandaged one of my hands.

"Okay," I replied. It's not like I didn't trust her and I had to admit I was a bit curious about this training she had planned. I put my hand in hers and I could immediately feel the rush of pleasure of the energy coursing through my body. I looked at my cuts with shock as they began to close. I felt the ache in my body getting weaker. I looked at Mystic Energy who only winced trying to conceal her pain. I felt the gem pushing me to take more, but the moment I felt better, I quickly retracted my hand. Tails looked up at me with purple colored eyes. Mystic Energy sucked in a breath as she leaned back.

"Why don't you get ready while I rest for a minute?" Mystic Energy sighed, "Liz bought you a whole wardrobe while you were sleeping." I got up from the bed moving toward the closet and my eyes widened at how packed it was.

"This is way too much," I said.

"Don't worry, she was very happy about it," Mystic Energy said. "Which is strange considering shopping's not her favorite hobby."

"Where am I?" I asked.

"After what happened at the Cave, we decided it'd be best to stay with us," She said, "this is our apartment. Aetius and Caderyn will be staying in another apartment so their energy doesn't overwhelm you."

"What about the others living in the Cave?" I asked.

"Living arrangements have been made for them," She replied. "Now, hurry and get ready. The shower is down the hall."
