Chapter 22: Framed

Alice's P.O.V.

It was my first day at Metropolis Blue. Honestly, I completely forgot I agreed to help Liz with this kind of mission. Not that I minded considering Blue Beetle was too busy with the League and Impulse was there with him. Honestly, it seemed like they were prisoners than anything? Couldn't they at least get one little break? You know just long enough for me to check up on them too...

I was unpacking my things as I was lost in my thoughts. I heard the door open and I turned around confused as to who was coming in. Because of my situation, Liz made sure I had a room to myself. I looked at the three girls standing at the doorway.

"Who are you?" They asked.

"I'm Al-Elodia, I'm new here," I replied catching myself in the name error.

"She's new?" I heard the one from behind say.

"Now, what are we supposed to do about our secret place?" The other complained.

"Sorry, feel free to come in if you'd like," I replied.

"So it's okay if we chill in here?" The leader spoke, "it's just we used to use this room for a getaway from our roommates."

"Yeah, it's fine," I replied. The three settled down in one of the beds talking about a few topics about the people I haven't quite met yet at the school or shows that sounded familiar as they flipped through the phone.

"Hey, did you guys know what's going on in Gotham right now?" One said making my interest peak, "apparently, an ad agency discriminated against the Reach and now there's a lot of hate going on towards it. There's even protesters crowded in front of the building."

"Did you see the video where the CEO came out and they started throwing eggs and tomatoes?" Another replied.

"Why are people taking it so seriously though? Maybe, it was just a clash of business."

"Apparently it all started with Gordon Godfrey. Look, here's the video."

I stopped for a moment focusing on listening to the video.

"Hello dear viewers, looks like I have a story for all you folks at home, concerning Alejandra Pierce, the CEO of Pierce Ad Agency!"

My fist tightened its grip on my pants as my eyes widened in shock. Mystic...

"You see folks! The Reach had gone to the agency in hopes of making a commercial, but were so coldly refused by the CEO because of what they are! We even have it here in audio."

"Well, if you want the honest truth, I don't work with those of your race. Your race is my problem." Alejandra's voice came out through the phone.

"And the girl's true colors are out. How deliciously ironic coming from the girl who's done many commercials utilizing many of the League heroes. Or should I say Criminals! Well, what can I say? Except Shady people always hide in Shady Business. A real hypocrite, that CEO! All I have to say my dear viewers with a two-faced CEO like her, who knows what kind of lies her commercials sell? This is G. Gordon Godfrey and you heard it hear first! As a citizen on the planet, I'll leave this with the Reach, Not all of us are two-faced and awful as her. How about showing some support for the real good guys?"

"I get what he's saying about the discrimination and what she said was awful," One of the girl's said, "but why does he constantly have to bash on our heroes?"
