Chapter 1: Metropolis Blue
Episode 1: Happy New Year
January 1, 2016
Alejandra's P.O.V.
I slammed my hands on the alarm clock getting annoyed with the constant ringing in my ears. I turned back on my side ready to fall back to sleep.
"Oh no, you don't!" I heard my best friend's annoying voice shout. I quickly clutched onto the blankets knowing that'd be the first thing she would try to take from me.
"Liz, please!" I begged.
"Come on, Alejandra," Liz stated. "It's time to get up!"
"I'm so tired though," I retorted. I felt her grab onto the blankets and struggled to tug them off of me. I let out a cry as she managed to pull me off the bed with the blanket. I looked up at her annoyed. She looked back at me with a smirk.
"You can't complain to me! I only got two hours of sleep, unlike someone who didn't even wait till midnight," She retorted as she released the blanket and put her hands on her hips. It's not my fault that she gets invited to all the frat parties. "Now, come on. You're not the only one that has to get ready. Although, you are the only one that's cooking breakfast."
"Come on, Liz," I whined pulling some of the blankets over my face. "Five minutes!"
"No way, especially with how you are when you're in the shower," She retorted before whacking me in the face with something fluffy.
"Ow!" I cried out annoyed as I put my hands in front to protect my face from her constant attacks. "Liz! Stop it!"
"No!" Liz said, "not until you get up!" I quickly rolled beneath the bed tangling myself into the blankets. "Alejandra! Are you kidding me right now?"
"No, I'm not!" I replied. I'm so tired right now. I'd rather just call in sick and not go to work today.
"Fine, but you're going to regret this," She replied. I heard her footsteps retreating and I began to slowly fall back into my sleep.
I woke up when I heard something ringing. I groaned as I struggled to find my way out of the blankets. I felt the cold ground against the palm of my hand. I began dragging myself toward the edge of the bed crawling out from beneath. I suddenly felt a sharp pain on the top of my head as something hard fell on it. I groaned rubbing the pain from the top of my head. I looked at my phone groggily as it rang and vibrated all over the floor. I let out a yawn as I picked it up in my hand and answered.
"Hello?"
"Alejandra?" D's voice resonated from the phone.
"What, D?" I said rubbing my eyes.
"Just calling to see how the meeting you had with Freezing Goods went," D replied.
"Meeting?" I said confused. "I don't have that meeting till ten on January 1."
"Oh then, never mind." D replied, "by the sound of it, you slept right through it. Guessing Liz didn't get you up, huh?" It took a moment before the fog in my head cleared and my mind processed.
"What?!" I cried out smacking my head hard against the bed before running the sore spot and climbing out the rest of the way. I gathered quickly to my feet rushing to my closet. The blankets wrapped around my legs making me go crashing down again. The phone slipped out of my hands, but I didn't care much for it. "I'm late! I'm late! I'm mega late! I'm such an idiot! It's the biggest client of the year! How could I let my uncle down like this?!" I quickly rushed to my closet and began pulling out a random skirt suit from in it grabbing black high heels and my bra and underwear. I ran to the bathroom and quickly started the water to warm it up before I undid my hair from its braid and began to undress. I showered as quickly as possible. I quickly changed into my dress suit before slipping my hair up in a ponytail and brushing my teeth. I quickly slipped on my black heels before rushing out of the bathroom. I almost fell down the stairs, but I caught myself. I rushed into the kitchen about to grab my files where I had last left them on the counter. I found Liz sitting on the table with it already set. She was on the phone. She looked at me smirking as I rushed to the counter.
