Episode 3: Alienated

Alejandra's P.O.V.
I was hot and my head was throbbing with immense pain. The heat of this room suffocating my lungs. I opened my mouth wanting to cry out for help, but it was as dry as a desert and my throat was raspy and swollen. The bed sheets soaked with my boiling sweat. My whole body was trembling sending painful waves through me. A loud bang followed by a piercing scream from downstairs made me force my eyes open. The room was dark. The thick curtains blocking out the sunlight. My gaze followed the door across the room. Who was that? Mom? The hot wet rag fell off my forehead as I struggled to sit up and get out of bed. When I managed to get off the bed, the pressure I put on my feet made pain shoot through me like if I was walking on needles. I began to fall, but I caught myself on my nightstand. The stand wobbled and my framed photo went crashing toward the floor. My eyes widened and I reached out trying to catch it, but it slipped right through my fingers. The sound of shattering glass broke the silence of my room. I looked down at the photo of my mom, dad, uncle, and me. I picked the photo up putting it on the stand before I continued across the room slowly to the door.
It took a while, but my shaky hand managed to get the door open and I proceeded down the hall using the wall to maintain my balance. I reached the doorway where I could hear my mother's sobs and cries.
"Jackson! Baby, stay with me," she cried as she leaned over my father's body pressing her hands against his chest as the blood squeezed through her fingers. I stared at the man a couple feet across from my mother. He pointed the gun threateningly at her, but all mom was focused on was Dad. "We have to call an ambulance! Please!"
"All you had to do was hand over #2304," The man stated. I recognized him as Mr. Monkey. I met him with Uncle Gill when Uncle Gill would take me to the doctors. I stopped going when I got really sick and Mom and Dad got in a huge argument with my Uncle. I haven't seen Uncle Gill since. Mom began sobbing.
"What you're doing is wrong!" Mom shouted at him, "she's just a child. She's our child! How can you expect us to give her away just like that?!"
"Mommy..." I said walking toward her still confused on what was going on. Mom turned to look at me barely noticing that I was there.
"Run, Sweetie, ru-" she started, but the sound of the bullet pierced the air and next thing I knew, she collapsed right on my father with a giant hole in the back of her head missing. I let out a cry as I fell back falling on my butt. Mr. Monkey set the gun in his pocket before walking toward me.
"Parents can be pretty annoying, huh, kid?" He stated as he walked over toward me. I struggled to gather onto my feet to get away. My heart raced in my chest as tears began to fill my eyes. My body trembled mostly out of fear than sickness now. Mr. Monkey smiled making his gold tooth shine as he reached out to grab me with the hand that had the snake tattooed around his wrist and I screamed out of fear.
I woke up with a start letting out a scream. I looked around confused for a moment of my surroundings. I was breathing heavily and some drops of sweat ran down from my brow. I let out a sigh as I recognized my office. I put my hand to my forehead as I realized it was just a dream. Rosaline came running in with a lamp. She looked around before her gaze falling onto me.
"What'd you scream for?" Rosaline shouted at me annoyed as she leaned the long lamp against her shoulder. My eyebrows scrunched together.
