Chapter 31: One Tiny Problem

I woke up to the feeling of my gem throbbing against my chest as it boiled and burned. My eyes blinked, but it seemed that's all I could do. I seemed to have no control over my body as it floated in this red cylinder container. From the corner of my eyes, I could see Superboy and Liz next to me unconscious. I could see some of the other containers with the rest of the team. What's going on? How did we get here? How long as it been?

'Sorry...' as the memory of Jaime knocking me out came to mind. If I could wince I would have from the memory. I felt a sharp pain in my chest from the Gem. It was running low. If I didn't get out of here, my gem could absorb Liz and Connor's life energy. I had to do something. I looked down as I saw someone walking forward. It was a Reach lady and Black Beetle. Their voices, although I couldn't understand them, echoed through the room.

I closed my eyes as I focused on the energy in the Gem, which was hard considering it wanted to devour the little it had left, not let me use it. I managed to draw out the astral energy.

When I opened my eyes, I found myself next to a big wooden stick. I looked down at my body happy. I could move it. Now to find Wally. I ran out when I quickly ran back when a shoe almost crushed me. I looked up and my eyes widened when I saw Wally and Roy. They were massive and both were clearly mad. Wally ran out. The sound of Roy's voice came out loud and booming. It didn't even sound like words from all the way down here. Why are they so big?!

"Roy!" I shouted trying to gather his attention, but it didn't work out in my favor. It wasn't till I looked around that I realized it wasn't that they were massive, I was the one that was tiny. After all, their size fit the room perfectly. I ran up hitching a ride on Roy's shoe lace. I couldn't be bigger than six inches at most. The ride was bumpy as Roy walked out of the door. I used the creases in his pants to climb up. I grabbed onto his sleeve as he lifted his hand to rub his head. I landed on his shoulder slightly panicking when I almost didn't catch my balance. Lian laughed from where she was hanging on her father's shoulder.

"No! Wait!" I said as I quickly dodged her big hand from grabbing a hold of me. She laughed again as she continued to try and reach for me. She didn't stop till Roy lifted her and picked her up. He was in the middle of strapping her in when he suddenly spoke.

"You going to come out or what?" Roy said loud but now clear that I was closer to his mouth. I saw her energy before I saw her come out of the shadows.

"I came to get her," Cheshire replied as she walked over to the car. "You're busy, right?"

"Yeah, Alice is missing, Wally and I will be out searching tonight," Roy replied.

"I'll leave her with my mother," she replied bending down picking her up.

"Where are you going?" Roy asked indifferent.

"You really want to know?" She asked as she walked passed him casually. "I'd be careful or I might mistake that for worry." As she was leaning in to get Lian, Roy grabbed her arm and pulled her to him. The movement was so swift and as she crashed into his body. I lost my balance and I managed to catch myself in a strand of Cheshire's hair.

"Should I be?" Roy asked as he held her close. This is so awkward. Cheshire smiled as she reached up and touched his cheek.

"No, of course not," she replied as she slowly moved away. I planned on jumping in the car, but I somehow got tangled.
