Song: Welcome to the ShowArtist: Britt Nicole
Epilogue: Future
Mary Alice's P.O.V.
It was the end of the year show. We only had about a week before our sophomore year ended here at the prestigious Boarding school, Rising Sun, where the world brightens for your Child's Horizon, blah, blah, blah. And I...well, I'm here to fight injustice.
The music came to a stop and the dance team on the stage suddenly froze as a new song began to start. I looked at Jaycee and nodded my head as we held onto the curtain ropes and jumped off the ledge as we opened up the back curtains behind the dance team before we landed center stage. We stood watching to the back stage as our group danced their way to the front. Once they were out from under the back curtain, Jaycee and I released the ropes and immediately joined our dance group. The dance squad seemed to pick up on the dance and some of them joined us, unlike Trina and her two minions.
Trina was the Queen Bee of the school. She was mean and bossy. Some said she didn't have a heart, I didn't go that far. I think every living being has a heart. Her's is just different. It's made out of ice and pumps poison.
She and her three tried to defy the routine and steal the attention, but the focus of the crowd was definitely Celia.
We had our formation centered around Celia, where she was up front showing off all that she got as we were all her back up dancers. Considering our dance group was formed of my cheer squad, we managed to add a few of our cheering routines to the dance. The crowd went wild as the music came to an end as they shouted Celia's name. As the curtains came down in front of us, I was tackled to the side as Celia hugged me. I laughed as she lifted off the floor. The two groups were mingling excited.
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" She said happy.
"Celia...Can't breathe," I said causing her to release me and I caught myself on my feet. I twisted my little bracelet as I saw the crowd dispersing.
"Ugh! What stink pulled you bugs off the field anyway?!" I heard Trina yell as she stormed over to me. She always called the cheer squad and me bugs.
"I don't know," I replied crossing my arms, "did you put on deodorant?" My group laughed as her eyes widened and she smelled herself. I couldn't help the smirk that fell on my lips. My group separated from hers and came to stand behind me.
"No! I mean yes, I did!" She retorted.
"I don't know," Jaycee smiled leaning in and resting her arm on my shoulder, "that definitely wasn't convincing."
"You just did this because of what I did to Colt, didn't you?!" She glared at me smirking. "Well, I'm happy I dumped that loser best friend of yours!"
"Now, why would I spite you for something I should be thanking you for?" I retorted as I clenched my hands into fists to hold back my anger, "he wasn't going to leave you on his own, but now that's he's free, I promise you he won't be making the same mistake twice." She glared at me. "No, this was all for Celia." Celia had been ducking her head since she heard Trina shout. She gripped onto my arm and I could feel her trembling. I moved to stand in front of her making her feel more reassured.
"Who? Her?!" Trina shouted pointing at Celia, "all this for a fat pig?!"
"Hey!" Jaycee shouted ready to go on attack mode, but I put my arm out to block her.
"When you told her she couldn't join because she'd steal the show with the crowd trying to feed her all the tomatoes they threw at her, poor Celia was hurt and I decided we should test the theory," I smirked, "well you were right on one thing, she did steal the show but because she was a heck of a better dancer than you and now she's going to look awesome wearing that Red, White, and Gold with us on the field."
