-Lara-
I went into the doctor the next day, and I went through all the tests and everything to see what was wrong with me.
"All your charts appear to be normal, Lara." Dr. Yeta told me.
"What else could it be then?" I asked.
"Well, there's only one last thing to look at..."
"What's that?" I asked.
I started chewing on my thumbnail, because I was nervous to hear the answer.
"Pregnancy." she said.
That one word hit me harder than anything else.
I put my hand over my heart and took a deep breath.
"You want to do an ultrasound?" I asked.
"Yes." Dr. Yeta nodded.
I laid back on the bed, and she brought in an ultrasound machine. I lifted up my shirt so she could put that gel on my belly, and I looked at the monitor.
"Um, i-it looks like there's two." I gasped.
"Yep, you've got twins."
Oh my god, what am I going to tell George? I'm pregnant with not just one of his babies, but two.
"How far along am I?" I asked.
"About six weeks."
I felt like I was going to be sick again, so I quickly got up and ran into the bathroom. I know I can't hide this from George, so I should probably tell him once this is over.
I left the hospital once my appointment was over, and I decided to give George a call. He answered after the first few rings, like he usually does when I call.
"Hey Lara, just got done with your appointment?" he asked.
"Yep, sure did. I have something to tell you, and it's super important." I sighed.
"Okay, shoot."
"I just found out that I'm... pregnant... with twins." I sighed.
"What? Lara, th-that's.."
"I know, it's crazy."
"But it's not a bad thing."
"I'm scared, George. I don't know what to do."
"I've always wanted kids of my own, Lara. We'll get through this together."
"Are we ready for kids, George?"
"You just bought a house, Lara. I don't think we'll have any trouble providing for two babies."
"I just don't think I'm ready... we've only been together for 8 months."
"It's fine, Lara. I'm not going anywhere, and you don't have to be afraid. Just let me take care of everything."
"George, I..."
"Shh, it's okay. We'll figure all this out, okay?"
"Okay, I... I love you."
"I love you too."
I hung up, and tears were just streaming down my face.
I started driving myself home, and I started feeling a little bit better after what George told me.
