After I met Lara at the coffeeshop, we sat down at a booth, and we finally got to spend some real time together.
"I'm glad you and me both had the same day off. I miss spending time with you." I sighed.
"I know, I've missed you too. I hope things will slow down a little bit at work."
"Yeah, so do I." I agreed.
I looked out the window, and there were little flurries of snow falling from the blue sky.
"Lara, look."
I spoke softly and pointed at the window.
"Oh, it's snowing."
She smiled, then she looked at me.
"Want to go outside?" she asked.
"I thought you'd never ask."
I got up and took Lara by the hand, and we both went outside.
After a few minutes, her eyelashes and hair were coated with snowflakes... she looked so beautiful.
"Lara?"
I got closer and took both of her cold hands in mine.
"Yes, George?" she giggled.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
We had a long passionate kiss, then she smiled at me.
"Everyday is just like the first day I met you. You're still so damn beautiful."
I reached up to brush a strand of hair behind her ear, but she flinched.
"I'm not going to hurt you, you know that." I told her.
"I know. I don't know what came over me just now."
Lara sighed and shook her head.
"It's alright."
I smiled and finished tucking the strand of hair behind her ear. I think she still thinks of Eric sometimes, and what he did to her. But after years of abuse, it's hard to let things like that go. I still think of Lexie sometimes, and how she hurt me, but that's not nearly as bad as what Eric did.
"I really hope we have more time to spend together."
She said, after a few minutes of silence.
"Me too. I miss spending time with you."
She grabbed my hand and squeezed, and I stuck both our hands in my pocket.
"There, is that better?"
"Much. It got really cold all of a sudden." she shivered. We went back inside the coffeeshop, and we grabbed our coffees off the counter.
We sat at a booth and talked about what we did over the past couple weeks, and I think I'm falling in love with Lara all over again.
