(y/n)'s pov:

  Today's the day.

    Hogwarts.

      Today.

I had woken at 8:30 this morning which was earlier than the others who would soon be up at 9. To be honest, I went to sleep at 3:45 since I was just too excited to sleep and when I finally dozed off, it seemed like just five minutes later my alarm was going off. However, without a second of hesitation, I bolted up and smiled to myself. My body slid off of my twin bed and into my fuzzy slippers and soon I found myself making my way to the bathroom. To my surprise, in the room next door to mine, Ginny was already up and seemed to be reading a book. I stopped in the doorframe to say a quick hello.

"Good morning Ginny!" She looked up from her book and a smile spread across her face.

"(Y/n)! How excited are you for today? I am SO excited!" Ginny was always so eager to go to Platform 9 3/4 even though she's not able to go to Hogwarts until next year.

"I'm excited, too, to be honest! Running into brick walls is a ten outta ten recommend!" She laughed and her eyes fell back on her book.

Although I have a special bond with all of the Weasley's I am sadly not related to them by blood, but they did adopt me when I was just a year old. Since then, they have been my family and they've never treated me like anything less. It is very obvious that I am not blood-related to the family since I lack their distinct red hair. I was never told about my birth parents and I had never worked up the guts to ask Mr. or Mrs. Weasley for any information on them. It never really bothered me too much though, since all I could ever want in a family I already have with the Weasley's.

I walked down the hall and into the bathroom. Taking one look at myself in the mirror, I knew it would take a long time to fix this look that I like to call the 'I woke up like this'. In a matter of fifteen minutes, I had brushed my teeth, done my routine face wash and brushed my rat's nest called hair. I didn't have to worry about showering since I took a nice, long one last night. After being satisfied with my looks, I made my way back to my room and found the outfit that I had picked out weeks ago for this special occasion.

Fifteen more minutes passed quickly and the rest of the Weasley clan had started getting up and ready. My outfit wasn't too fancy, yet nothing that says I just got out of bed. It was just simple cropped black leggings and a pale blue short-sleeved shirt that had a small sunflower in the corner. For shoes, I decided on my everyday beat-up grey sneakers.

"Everyone is up, right?" Molly's voice echoed from the bottom level of the house. In response, there was six yes'.

Everyone's trunks were already packed last night and were downstairs waiting for us. I was the first one downstairs followed by Ginny, Ron, Percy and finally the twins. By the time the car was packed and everyone was all set to leave it was 10:05 so we had 55 minutes before the Hogwarts Express left.

"Goodbye everyone I am late to work but I will see you five for Christmas break! I love you all, safe travels!" Arthur came rushing down the stairs as he spoke, give each one of us a hug and with that, he was out fo the door.

"Alright, let's be on our way dearies!" Molly shooed us out the door and one by one we all packed into the small car together.

Goodbye burrow, I'll see you at Christmas

The ride to King's Cross Station was mainly filled with Fred and George complaining about how cramped they were and many puns were said.

We finally pulled up to the train station and it took a matter of fifteen minutes just to unpack our stuffed car since there are five of us attending Hogwarts this year. We all found carts with wheels to put our trunks and pets on. I had a brown and white owl with emerald green eyes when we went shopping at Diagon Alley and decided to name her (o/n).

"It's the same every year packed with muggles, of course. Come on! Platform 9 3/4 this way," Molly led all of us to where the wall was and that's when the nerves hit. I was standing next to Ron and the twins with excitement spread across my face. "Alright Percy, you first." I watched as Percy ran confidently through the wall with a grin. "Fred, you next!"

      "He's not Fred, I am!"

"Honestly women and you call yourself our mother." I smiled at their sass.

"Ah, I'm sorry George," Molly replied and pointed for him to go through the wall.

"I'm only joking I am Fred!" Without waiting for a reply and ran through the wall with George closely behind him.

"Excuse me!" I turned around along with Ron and saw a boy with circle glasses and dark hair. "Could you tell me... how to..." He didn't know how to finish his sentence so he just pointed at the wall.

"How to get onto the platform?" Molly smiled at the boy. "Oh not to worry dear it's Ron and (y/n)'s first time to Hogwarts as well!" The boy turned to us and smiled kindly which Ron and I returned. "Now all you got to do is walk straight at the wall between platforms nine and ten." The boy nodded and it was obvious he was still uncertain about everything. "Best to do it at a bit of a run if you're nervous."

"Good luck," Ginny said trying to reassure the poor boy.

He eyed the wall up and down before running through it. He did it without messing up.

"Now you two better go and be nice to that boy, he seemed lonely," Molly said to Ron and me. We nodded in response.

"Would you like to go first?" Ron asked me. A smile appeared on my face.

"Sure! I am a bit nervous though." I admit.

"Don't be dear! You will do just fine." Molly reassured me as a stepped a little ways back in front of the wall.

I started running and as soon as I collided with the wall I took a deep breath like I do every year for fear that it wouldn't let me through somehow. Like always, I had passed through and let out a sigh of relief. I turned to the right and started walking with my cart.

This was the start to a brand new year.
