The four ran to McGonagall's office and sprinted in between the chairs up to her desk.
"We have to see professor Dumbledore immediately!" Harry exclaimed, clearly out of breath from the running.
"I'm afraid Professor Dumbledore's not here. He received an urgent owl from the Ministry of Magic and left immediately for London," The professor responded calmly.
"He's gone! But this is important! This is about the Sorcerer's Stone!"
"How did you know ---?"
"Someone's going to try to steal it!" (Y/n) cut her godmother off.
"I don't know how you three found out about the Stone but I assure you it is perfectly well protected. Now would you go back to your dormitories quietly." (Y/n) did the biggest eye roll as she followed her friends out of the classroom. They began walking and stopped a few feet away from the entrance of the classroom.
"That was no stranger Hagrid met. It was Snape. Which means that he knows how to get past Fluffy." (Y/n) rolled her eyes yet again.
"If you're going to keep accusing my dad of being a thief I don't want in on this anymore." The girl crossed her arms and got a quick mumble fo apologies.
"Either way, with Dumbledore gone---" Hermione began but was cut off.
"Good afternoon. Now, what would four young Gryffindors, such as yourselves be doing inside on a day like this?" An all to familiar voice rang from the group.
"We were... we were just---" Hermione stuttered.
"You'd ought to be careful. People will think you're... up to something." He made eye contact with his daughter in the latter half of his statement, but she looked away quickly causing Snape to grow confused with her unusual behavior.
"Now what do we do?" Hermione asked in a quiet panic.
"I don't know but he totally knows something's off with me," (Y/n) said.
"We go down the trap door, tonight," Harry concluded.
The rest of the day went on slowly, but (Y/n) tried to hang out with Everley and Viviana since she noticed their friendship starting to grow distant and she wanted to prevent that. She told the other two of their plan, but they opted out since they were scared which was understandable.
Everything was going quite well, Hermione and (Y/n) were ready to meet the boys in the common room when night began to fall on the castle.
"Trevor."
"Trevor, sh, go you shouldn't be here!" (Y/n) tried to shoo the stubborn toad.
"Neither should you. You're sneaking out again aren't you?" Neville said and stood up from his the armchair.
"Now Neville listen. We were... we were---" Harry began.
"No I won't let you! You'll get Gryffindor into trouble again! I'll, I'll fight you!" (Y/n) sighed at the boy's lack of courage.
"Neville, I'm really really sorry about this. Petrificus totalus!" Hermione casted a curse to freeze Neville, who fell over after being cursed.
"You're a little scary sometimes, you know that. Brilliant, but scary," Ron said.
"Let's go." Harry led his friends and they all mumbled a sorry as they passed Neville frozen on the floor. They all hid under the invisibility cloak as they tip-toed their way down the corridors.
