Third Person pov:
Professor Snape strutted up to the front of the classroom which forced the class of Slytherins and Gryffindors to shut up. "There will be no foolish wand waving or silly incantations in this class. As such, I don't expect many of you to enjoy the subtle science and exact art that is potion making. However, for those select few-" Snape made eye contact with (Y/n) as he spoke "-who possess the predisposition, I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory and even put a stopper in death." At this point, the potions master's eyes had drifted from (Y/n) and onto the dark-haired, blue-eyed boy sitting to her left. "Then again, maybe some of you have come to Hogwarts in possession of abilities so formidable that you feel confident enough to not...pay...attention."
At those words, both (Y/n) and Hermione send Harry an elbow to the ribs. The poor boy was just taking notes, but to Professor Snape, Harry looked as if he was not paying attention.
"Mr. Potter..." oh Merlin "our... new... celebrity. Tell me, what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" Hermione's hand skyrockets into the air. How was Harry supposed to know the answer to something so complex on the first day? Harry shakes his head in defeat. "You don't know? Well, let's try again. Where, Mr.Potter, would you look if I asked you to find me a bezoar?" Hermione's hand was still extended high into the air.
"I-I don't know sir," Harry quietly replied.
"And what is the difference between Monkshood and Wolfbane?"
"I don't know sir."
Exactly and how is he supposed to, he's only been here for less than a day!
"Pity. Clearly, fame isn't everything, is it, Mr. Potter?" (Y/n) notices Malfoy turns around and smirks at Harry.
"Excuse me, sir." (Y/n)'s hand creeps into the air, catching Snape's attention.
"Yes, Miss. Weasley," Professor Snape's voice becomes less tense when speaking to the young Gryffindor which was a pleasant surprise for her.
"With all due respect sir, it is the first day of classes here, I don't really understand how you can expect Harry or anyone for that matter, to know the answers to those oddly specific questions." Snape was taken aback that a student would speak to him in that manner, but instead of going off on the young girl he let the room go silent for a few seconds, which felt like ten minutes to (Y/n) and the rest of the class.
"Miss. Weasley, please see me after class to discuss your question," was all the potions teacher could muster out. No points were taken away, or disciplinary actions made at the time of her words. Hermione, Everley, and Viv looked at (Y/n) in shock that 1. she had the nerve to talk to a professor like that and 2. he didn't do anything in response to her calling him out.
The class was boring and extremely tense ever since (Y/n)'s sassy side came out. The sorting hat was right, she wasn't afraid to call people out on their bs. She genuinely didn't understand how a professor could be rude like that to a student especially on the first day of classes. It's not like he has grudge against Harry, they've only just met, thought (Y/n).
Soon enough the bell rang and (Y/n) awkwardly shuffled to the front of the classroom and in front of Snape's desk. The potions master was busy looking at the advanced potions book for his next class, yet was aware of the girl before him. The Gryffindor girl looked down and absentmindedly shuffled her feet in her place.
"Sit," the Professor commanded to the girl as he pulled a stool next to him without bothering to look up. (Y/n) swallowed the large lump in her throat that she hadn't even noticed formed. She walked around the large wooden desk and sat on the stool on the right of Snape. The only sound for the next few minutes was Snape's quill scribbling on a piece of parchment. "What class do you have next, Miss. Weasley?"
"Well, I have a free period then after lunch I have flying." Snape hummed in response and finished writing whatever he was writing about and folded the parchment into an envelope.
"Give this to Professor McGonagall, and so help me if you open it." He handed (Y/n) the envelope addressed to Professor McGonagall.
"I won't Professor, I'll deliver it right away," (Y/n) said to the Professor in front of her. His face had softened when his black eyes met her (e/c) eyes.
(Y/n) hopped off the stool and began walking out of the classroom, when Snape called out to her.
"And Miss. Weasley if you speak to me like that in class again, you can expect deductions from your house." The girl turned around right when she reached the door.
"And if I speak to you like that out of class?" Her sassy smirk caused a mimicked smirk to crawl across the professor's dull face.
"Just deliver the letter," Snape said in his usual monotone voice.

(Y/n) had reached the divination classroom, all while wondering the whole way what the letter contained, but not daring to open it. Who knew what kinds of spells it had on it. She was relieved to see that McGonagall, too, didn't have a class at the moment, so she wasn't awkwardly interrupting.
The young girl knocked on the door frame, already seeing McGonagall seated up at her desk in the front of the room. Her head immediately snapped up, upon hearing the noise. When McGonagall's eyes met (Y/n)'s, she smiled at the girl who returned it.
"Come in, dear, come in."
(Y/n) entered the divination classroom and proceeded to the front of the room and up to McGonagall's desk. "Professor Snape wanted me to give you this letter, he instructed me not to open it." (Y/n) handed the letter to McGonagall who opened it with a confused face.
Taking this as her cue to leave, (Y/n) spun on her heel and began walking out of the room, but the professor had a different idea.
"Would you like to stay for some tea and biscuits, sweetheart. I think we should go over your classes for the year since I am the head of Gryffindor house." (Y/n) turned back around to face the professor. The former's face lit up at the offer.
"I would be delighted to Professor. I'm glad I have a free period right now." At the sound of the girl's acceptance, McGonagall's face brightened up. She put down the letter, determined to follow Snape's request.

Sorry I haven't updated in like six days, I had a hella stressful week and the next two weeks won't be any less stressful. In two weeks, I'm leaving the country on vacation, so I'll try to write more drafts before I leave so that I can just publish them instead of not having anything :)
