Third Person pov:

The group of six joked and laughed all the way down to where the flying practice was being held. There were two lines of brooms waiting for the Gryffindors and Slytherins. All six of the friends stood behind a broom, unsure of what to do or where their professor was. (Y/n) stood on Ron's left with Harry on her left and Hermione next to his. Viviana and Everley were on Ron's right.

All the student arrived within the next minute and Malfoy decided to be the annoying eleven-year-old he is, and stand with the broom directly in front of (Y/n). She rolled her eyes at him to Harry and did the same. Finally, a woman with short white hair and yellow eyes approached.

"Good afternoon class." She spoke as she walked in between the two lines of brooms.

"Good afternoon, Madam Hooch." The class of first years spoke in unison.

"Welcome to your first flying lesson. Well, what are you waiting for? Everyone step up to the left side of their broomstick. Come on now, hurry up. Stick your right hand over the broom and say, Up!"

The student did as she said and went to the left of their broomsticks. With no hesitation, unlike others, (Y/n) said 'up' to her broom. Without a second to think after saying up, the broom flew up with such speed into the girl's hand. Harry was quick to follow and then Draco, who gave (Y/n) a sly grin after which caused the girl to roll her eyes. (Y/n) looks around the group of students from left to right and her eyes land on Ron as his broom wacks him in the face. Harry starts lightly laughing at his friends lack fo quidditch skills, and (Y/n) joined in laughing at her brother.

Eventually, all the students had gotten their brooms into their hands and too (Y/n)'s excitement, flying lesson was soon about to commence.

"Now, once you've got hold of your broom I want you to mount it, and grip it tight. We don't want to be sliding off the end." (Y/n) did as she was told and mounted the broom. "When I blow my whistle I want each of you to kick off the ground hard. Keep your broom steady, hover a moment, then lean forward slightly and touch back down. On my whistle... 3, 2." Professor Hooch blew her whistle and before anyone could kick off of the ground the boy named Neville had already begun to lift off the ground a little too high for comfort.

"Mr. Longbottom." Madam Hooch tried to get the boy back on his feet. However, his broom had other ideas and he began zipping off into the air. Every student was trying to talk sense into Neville but it seemed as if he wasn't in control of his broom, which he clearly wasn't. From a distance, the students heard Neville yell help, but it was of no use. "Come back down this instant!"

"Madam Hooch, I don't believe he can quite control it..." (Y/n) said amidst the other yelling students. In the air, it was obvious that Neville had no idea what he was doing since his broom was serving left to right and doing barrel rolls. All of a sudden (Y/n) turned away from the Professor and was immediately grabbed by Harry and out of the way of Neville, who was zooming on his broom towards the crowd of first years.

      "Thank you."

      "Don't mention it."

Neville traveled on his broom around a part of the building and fell off on the top, but was luckily caught by a statue with a sword catching his robe. Unfortunately, the robe ripped and he came crashing onto the ground. He was laying face first grasping his wrist.

"Oh dear, it's a broken wrist," Madam Hooch said after racing to the poor boy, "come on now, up you go. Everyone is to keep their feet firmly on the ground while I take Mr. Longbottom to the hospital wing. If I see a single broom in the air, the one riding it will find themselves out of Hogwarts faster than they can say quidditch." With that said, she took Neville off of the flying grounds and into the castle.

"Did you see his face? Maybe if the fat lump had given this a squeeze, he'd have remembered to fall on his fat ass," Malfoy laughed as he twirled around Neville's remembrall.

"Give it here, Malfoy," Harry said with his hand extended to take the ball from the platinum blonde boy.

"No. I think I'll leave it somewhere for Longbottom to find. How 'bout up on the roof?" Malfoy started hovering as his broom as he spoke. "What's the matter, Potter? Bit beyond your reach?"

"It may out of his, but not mine," (Y/n) stepped forward with her broom in hand. Harry went to join (Y/n) when Hermione stopped the pair.

"(Y/n), Harry, no! You heard what Madam Hooch said! Besides, you don't even know how to fly." The two ignored Hermione's concerns and instead flew into the air trailing after Malfoy. "They. are. idiots."

"Guys seriously, it's way too dangerous to fly without even having a lesson!" Viviana called before Harry and (Y/n) were out of hearing range.

"Give it here, Malfoy, or I'll knock you off your broom!" Harry threatened once they both reached the boy who was smirking.

"Is that so?" Harry went after Draco but was too late since he had whipped the remembrall further into the air. "Have it your way, then!"

(Y/n) was the first to take action and zoomed after the ball, but saw that it was about to crash into one of the school's windows. Harry was not far behind the girl, which gave her an idea.

"Harry go right!" (Y/n) called to him, and it was a miracle he heard her voice. He swerved to the right and as the remembrall was about to go through the window, (Y/n) caught it and with perfect aim darted it straight to Harry who caught it without shaking one bit on his broom. The girl came to a halt to her side right in time in front of the window. She didn't bother looking into the window, scared of whoever saw her, and instead flew down to the ground with Harry with a huge grin plastered across her face.

What the two Gryffindors didn't know was a certain professor saw both of their skills and was off in search of the pair of first years
