Chapter 18- Hang On

I pick up my phone and excuse myself from the table and walk outside the restaurant.

Phone call with Cam-

Cam-" Hey whats up."

Me-" I got to cancel our plans."

Cam-" Really? Why"

Me-" Long story short my parents want to meet you. They planned a day at the pier."

Cam-" Ok I will meet you at the pier then sounds good."

Me-" Ok but um... they want  to get to know you and...."

Cam-" and if they don't like me I can't see you anymore. What if they won't like me... its been 2 years?"

Me-" They will love you."

Cam-" K see you there."

I walk back in the restaurant.

Dad-" Who called?"

Me-" Cam. He is meeting us at the pier at noon"

I say smiling.

Mom-" great lets go."

We walk to the car. We take about a 40 minute drive to the pier and we park.

We get out of the car to see...

Cam was standing there.

He was wearing some black joggers and a short sleeve button up shirt.

He looked really nice.

My dad walks up to Cam and Cam greets him with a confident smile.

They shake hands.

Cam-" Very nice to meet you Mr. Wood"

My mom walked but to Cam 

Cam-" Nice to meet you Mrs. Wood"

My mom smiled at Cam.

Mom-" We have heard some things about you Cam."

Cam smiles and smiles at me.

My Dad smiles at me and gives me a look of approval.

Thank good ness.

I walk up to Cam and give him a hug.

Me-" Thank you for coming."  I whisper.

Cam-" Of course I would come." He whispers back.

I thought Cam would be intimidated my my dad but he was not. My dad and Mom value that in someone. Confidence.

We walk on the pier and we sit at a shaded table.

Dad-" So Cameron how did you meet Bailey."

Cam-" I actually met her in freshman year. We had a few mutual friends in common. Then beginning of sophomore year we became friends. My family moved away when I was in sophomore year and I lost contact with everyone including Bailey. And a little while ago me and Bailey bumped into each other when here and Adi were shopping."

Thank goodnesshe did not say anything about the party. I would have been in so much trouble.

I smile at him.

Mom-" Wow thats a concidence."

Cam chuckles.

Cam-" It really was."

My mom smiles.

Dad-"  What are your plans for after highschool?"

Cam-" Well...  I plan on attending a performing arts college?"
