Chapter 37- New Start

I woke up and today is Sunday.

I put on some boyfriend jeans and a black bandeau top.

I walk downstairs of my house.

I see a note from my parents saying they both are at work.

I quickly eat some toast and go to Adi's house.

By the time I get all this done its about lunch time.

I knock on the door.

Tal opens it.

Me-"Hello"

Tal-"Adi just left for lunch with Emily. He will be back for about 2."

Me-"I know I was not looking for Adi."

Tal-"Then who are you looking for?" Tal realizes. "Oh  come inside."

I laugh.

I walk inside.

Me-" I was wondering if you wanted to come next weekend to a beach getaway weekend with me, Adi, Sienna and Jojo?"

Tal-" Since when do you invite me places."

Me-"My parents said unless you come we can't go. They want a responsible guardian to go with us."

Tal-"Nope I'm good."

Tal begins to walk to the kitchen.

I follow him.

Me-"Please Tal."

Tal-"Not listening."

Me-"Hey Tal. I'm desperate. So maybe if you could just spare the weekend to go to malibu. I dunno I guess it ... It would mean alot to me."

Tal-"Wow the independent Bailey Wood, Who does not want help from anyone, is begging someone else for help." Tal says looking at me.

I look at Tal.

Me-"I mean, I just thought it would be nice for you to do something nice for the people that care about you. Bye I have to leave."

I begin to walk out the door.

Tal-"Hey Bailey wait."

Tal stops me.

Me-"What?"

Tal-"Ok I could spare one weekend. But I call dibs on the fruit popsicles."

I smile.

Me-"Thank you."

Tal-" You don't have to leave. I was just about to make some springrolls."

I laugh.

Me-" That sounds good."

I walk to the kitchen and Tal pulls out springrolls from the oven.

He passes me the tray and I get some plates and utensils.

He grabs some plum sauce and we sit on the bar stools.

Me-"These are pretty good."

Tal-"Yeah they are. Want some plum sauce?"

Me-"Yeah sure." I say as I turn to Tal.

As I turn Tal puts some plum sauce on my nose.

Me-"Hey!!!"

I put some plum sauce on my finger and put it on his nose.

Tal-"Hey, Don't do that"

We laugh.

I wipe it off my face.

Me-"Man, your immature"

Tal-"So are you."

I laugh.

I guess Tal is different.

I think we could actually be becoming friends.

 I get a phone call.

I get up and I answer it. It was Cam.

Me-"Hey."

Cam-"Hey."

Me-"So how is the job going?"

Cam-"Great. I really am enjoying this."

Me-"Thats good."

Cam-"What are you doing?"

Me-"Eating some lunch."

Cam-"Let me guess Tacobell"

I laugh.

Me-"Oh believe me I wish."

Cam laughs.

Cam-"So I gotta go. I'm on set. I just had a break. Talk soon."

Me-"Talk soon"

I hang up.

I look down. 

Tal-"Cam again?"

Me-"Yeah."

Tal-" So this weekend what am I supposed to do?"

Me-" Well... You can surf, Hike trails, the beach, barbecue,..."

Tal-" Ok. I can work with that. I can't believe next week is Halloween,"

Me-" Yeah me neither, "

Tal-"The party this year is supposed he be good."

Me-"Really, I'm not sure if I am going"

Tal-"You have to go. It'll be fun."

Me-"Ok I will most likely go."

Tal-"Its hella fun. Last year it was amazing."

Me-" I remember. Me and Adi dressed up together as the incredibles. But this year is different. Emily and Adi are going together. Then Sienna and Jojo, Nick and Sage, and then Kiara and Cenna. I am the odd one out."

Tal-"Isn't Cam in your guy's friend group. Go with him."

Me-"He's in Sacramento."

Tal-" Oh yeah. What if I go with you?"

Me-"You would do that?"

Tal-' Sure. I'm at the party anyway. It would not be out of my way."

Me-" Thank you. What were you gonna dress up as?"

Tal-"I dunno. Do you have any ideas?"

Me-"Maybe pirates?"

Tal-"I like that. Its settled we can be pirates."

I smile.

Tal smiles at me.

Me-" Thanks for lunch. I should get going."

Tal-"Goodbye."

Me-"Bye."

I grab my phone and my keys to leave,

I walk out of the door.

I shut his front door and I smile.

Wait why I am I so smiley.

But I can admit Tal is changed.

He really is my friend.

Who ever thought?

I would never expect Tal to be so...
