Chapter 3: Her Eyes and Her Smile..

Snape's POV

I was grading papers from previous classes and the first people to walk in for my 5th year class was Harry Potter and poesy. Erin has taking a liking to that group, I assume she might be a trouble maker like them, I shouldn't judge too quick. Erin looked at me and asked "Are we early?" and I nodded and replied, "About 10 minutes, you can start early and take the notes on the board." I waved my wand and notes for strengthening solution came up. "We learned this already though." Said Ms. Granger. I looked at her and then she said "But I'd be happy to relearn it to improve mine." And I looked back down at the papers. I could feel one of the staring at me, I looked up to see it was Ms. Smith, her eyes were a... green... like Lily's.. I promised myself not to think about her, I knew I'd be hard to love after what happened to her... About 8 minutes later students started piling in and they took their seats.

"Today we will be taking notes on strengthening solution, if you are finished early you may start on making it. Begin." I said to the class as they started scribbling down notes. About 5 minutes later, Ms. Smith came up to me holding her notebook and said "I'm done." I grabbed her notebook and saw doodles here and there and looked at the notes she took, her hand writing was so neat and looked like it would take hours to write like that, but she got it done in the matter of 15 minutes. I handed it back to her and said "You and Mr. Malfoy may work together on the potion." and continued grading papers. She walked back over to her table

"Draco, were working together apparently. Can you grab the ingredients for me while I get it started?" she said and he looked at her like he didn't know what the ingredients were. "Really, you don't know this simple potion and you learned it last year? Fine I'll get them" She chuckled. Her smile was... beautiful.. No, don't think that! she is a student, Severus... I continued to grade papers as I listening to her speak.

"Draco, can you even name the ingredients I just put on this table?" she said. "Uh.. most likely not Rin." He laughed. "Salamander blood and powdered Griffon claw, how are you even in 5th year." She said jokingly. he just glared at her. Dumbledore wasn't lying when he said she was really smart. She was taking notes as it was mixing.

She walked up to me and said "Were done with it, I know it takes a couple days to mature. But we finished and we can't do anything further with it." I looked at her and said "Do you want a prize?" I heard a couple students laugh and snicker. She turned around and back to face me, "I will check it to make sure you didn't mess anything up." I walked over to her and Mr. Malfoy's station, I know he didn't do anything so I turned to him and said "Mr. Malfoy, will you demonstrate how you make this potion? On your own." He looked at me blankly and said "Of course, professor..."

He went to grab Frog blood and Griffon shavings, I want to see how this goes.. now that he has grabbed the wrong ingredients. He put them into his cauldron and started mixing, after a few minutes it began to bubble, and then it exploded, in his face and he fainted.

"Ms. Smith and Mr. Weasley, please take this imbecile to Madame Pomfrey, please" I said. So they both carried him out of the room and I heard snickers and whipped my head around and everyone took their seats again. As class went by Erin and Ron walked back in and I just told them to study Calming Draught and Draught of peace. When class was over I asked Ms. Smith to stay behind, she stiffened.

"You wanted to speak to me, Professor?" she said shakily

"Yes, why else would I want you to stay behind?" I said, she shrugged. "You are very smart and I wanted to ask if you wanted private lessons after dinner for the next few weeks so you can get ahead." I said as I sat down.

"That would be terrific sir, I would love to." She smiled very brightly, that damn smile. I was staring at her at this point and she said "Do you need something else, Professor? or was that it?"

"That was all, you may go to the Great Hall for dinner." I dismissed her and she left

I never usually eat dinner, but I decided to tonight. I made my way to the Great Hall and I saw Erin and Draco walking together. She turned around barely and smiled to herself

Everyone was eating and I was curious to know more about Ms. Smith... I used Legilimens on her and she obviously knew someone was using it on her, because she started looking around frantically. One of her memories was her and what I assumed was her dad, hitting her mother. He turned to look at Erin and said "You damn freak, I don't care if you aren't my- Never mind.. you're just a damn freak." and slapped her. The next one was her walking around town, I assume where she is currently living in the muggle world, she approached a pub and looked in the window to see her dad cheating on her mother. She walked in and confronted him, he got up and told her to go home and keep it quiet or else. She said her mother didn't deserve it and he screamed at her and hit her, took her outside the pub and started kicking her, no one did anything. She finally escaped and went to the woods, her safe place, and cried. Then finally went home and didn't say anything about it. That was the end of that memory. Looking at some other ones I found one of me and her... kissing?! that is absurd, it must be a dream she is thinking of. After kissing we were both undressed and... then I was kicked out of her memories, she fought back.. She wasn't looking at me so she must not know... But that dream she had.. does she really think of me like that?
