Chapter 20: Smarts

Erin's POV

It was close to end of the year, I hadn't been really paying attention much in class. Severus and I just basically stare at each other in awe whenever no one else is paying attention. I'm glad that I'm actually happy.

There were only 2 weeks of school left, I'm sad that it is coming to an end because I didn't think it would end so fast, only 2 more years of school..

I was in potions class and I was barely paying attention, I already knew most of this stuff anyways. I was snapped out of my thoughts by Snape saying

"Ms. Smith! You haven't been paying attention much, let's see if you have learned anything from this year." He said

"I've learned a lot, so you can give me your best shot, Professor." I said

A lot of people gasped, I give Snape a lot of sass and he doesn't do anything about it, so I guess others are just waiting for him to snap.

"Alright ingredients of Draught of Peace, without using your book." he said

"Powdered Moonstone, Syrup of hellebore, Powdered unicorn horn, and Powdered porcupine quills." I said

"Invigoration Draught"

"Alilhotsy leaves, Dried billywig leaves, Infusion of wormwood, peppermint, and stewed mandrake"

Strengthening solution."

"Salamander blood and Powdered Griffin claw."

"Hm, let's see if you have studied beyond your year."

"Let's see then, Professor." I smiled

"Volubilis potion."

"Honeywater, Mint sprigs, Stewed Mandrake, and Syrup of Hellebore."

"Wiggenweld Potion."

"Wiggentree bark, Moly, Dittany, one pint of Horklump juice, 2 drops of Flobberworm mucus, 7 Chizpurfle fangs, Billywig sting slime, a sprig of mint, Boom Berry juice, one stewed mandrake, drops of Honeywater, sloth brain mucus, Moondew drops, Salamander blood, 10 lionfish spines, unicorn horn, and wolfsbane." I panted because I barely took breaths in between speaking

"Well done, Ms. Smith. See me after class.." He walked away and Draco just looked at me

"Problem, Draco?"

"How do you know all that, Erin?" he asked

"I just have a lot of spare time, so I read a lot." I smiled

"Well... I can't even mix a potion without checking twice in the book if I'm doing it right." He said

"I can always help you, if you want."

"Whenever you have any spare time, could you?" he asked

"Of course, Draco." I smiled and continued to stare off into space.

Class was over and I stayed behind like Snape had asked me, he closed the door and sat at his desk

"You know you're too smart for this class, right?" he said

"I am aware of that, Professor." I smiled and walked over to his desk.

I sat on the edge of his desk and he looked up and said, "You might have to be moved up a year, but if you don't want that, I suggest you act like a 5th year, Smith."

"Right, because getting out of here early would be, so awful." I smiled

"You wouldn't be able to see me as much." he said
