Chapter 7: Old friends

Erin's POV

"Erin, you're barely eating." Harry said, we sat together because there were barely any Gryffindor and I'm Harry's friend. I'm not just gonna let him by himself

"What?" I asked

"You said you were starving, and you're barely eating." he looked at me concerned

"I'm fine, not as hungry as I thought I was." I said

"If you aren't feeling well, you should go back to bed. You don't want others catching you're cold or whatever you have." he said

I looked up at Snape, he was staring at me. I winked at him and he looked away, he was probably staring because I wasn't sitting at the Slytherin table. But I teased him anyway, he said he won't be able to resist me. He probably will give in.

"Yeah, I might take a nap and see if I feel any better, later." I said looking at him

"You seem pale, so I was concerned."

"Erin?" I heard a voice from behind me, I turned around to see it was my best friend Kaylee from Beauxbatons.

"Kaylee!" I ran up to her and hugged her, "I thought you weren't gonna go here?"

"I changed my mind, America isn't for me. I missed you."

"I missed you too, what house are you in?" I asked

"Slytherin, I have to go pick up robes." she said, I gasped and said, "Daphne moved out of my room, maybe we'll be roommates!"

"I hope so." she smiled

"Why are you here? It's winter break." I asked while we walked over to the Gryffindor table

"I figured I could find my way around before school starts, Dumbledore said we'd have all classes together. So you can show me around."

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, Harry. This is Kaylee, Kaylee this is Harry Potter."

"Thee Harry Potter? I've heard so much about you in Rin's letters." she smiled

"Yeah, the others are at home. You'll meet them later." he said

"Well very nice to meet you finally." she said

"You, as well." He continued eating

"The head of our house is pretty rude." Kaylee said

"Professor Snape is.. something." I said, I almost said sweet when he wants to be and sexy... can't let my stupid crush slip up anymore, Hermione and Harry already know. She laughed and said "What you mean he's 'something'"

"I mean he's just a hard person to understand, you try to get close to him and he just blocks everyone out." I said, "I mean that's what Dumbledore said to me when I first met him..."

"He did?" Asked Harry

"Yeah, did he not say that to you." I chuckled

"No." he laughed

"He's like staring at us, Rin. Why?" Kaylee said

"You're obviously too beautiful, Kaylee." I laughed, Kaylee was always prettier and more popular than me. She got a lot of guys, mostly any guy she wanted, Kaylee had a nice body, we weighed about the same but I thought she always looked better, she has very long golden brown hair, eyes that change from blue to grey, and she's just perfect in general.

"Ew, he's a teacher. That would be absurd." She laughed loudly, breakfast was ending and I still wasn't feeling the greatest, I showed Kaylee around and then we got to be roommates, I decided to go see Madam Pomfrey, she has to know what's wrong.

"Hey Madam Pomfrey, I'm not feeling the greatest."

"Oh dear, that isn't good. Are you thinking about what happened a couple months ago, dear?"

"No, I haven't really thought about it until someone brings it up, but I still barely think about it."

"Take this, it'll help me see emotions and fevers if you have any." She handed me a black liquid, I drank it and almost threw up and gagged.

"Oh honey, it seems you are just lonely, well feeling alone anyways. I'd go take a nap, maybe dating might help as well. You never know, hon."

"I'm lonely? People can get sick from that?" I asked

"Yes, it's very common among people who witnessed someone die."

"I don't remember anyone dying..." I drifted off..

"It says you have, dear. Maybe write to a parent or guardian and ask about it? You should go take a nap now, it'll help." she shooed me off and I walked up to my room, Kaylee had passed out from unpacking I assume, I laid down and fell asleep. I woke up and it was around...7 PM! Holy hell I slept a long time, over 12 hours. I should take a shower, so I did and read for 2 hours. Then woke Kaylee up and we made our way down to the Great hall for dinner. We sat with Harry again.

"Feeling better, you slept a long time." he asked

"A little, I went to Madam Pomfrey. She said to take a nap as well" I said

"Naps always help everyone." Kaylee said

"You slept longer than me."

"I was tired! I had to unpack and shit." she said

I happen to look up at the head table and see Snape, he barely comes to dinner, he was staring so I winked at him again. I'm pretty sure he blushed and looked away.

Snape's POV

Dumbledore insisted that I came to dinner, we got a new student today and she used to be friends with Ms. Smith, she was sitting with her and Mr. Potter at the Gryffindor table, I could barely focus and I had been staring at Ms. Smith again, she noticed and made sure no one was looking and winked at me. I barely blushed and quickly looked away, how dare she tease me like that, contain yourself, Severus. I continued eating.

"You are quite taken with her, Severus." Dumbledore said smiling

"I said this earlier, that is absurd, Albus. She is a student and I am her teacher."

"Okay, Severus." He chuckled

Severus... you must contain yourself around her... It is very unprofessional to not.. she is just so beautiful, I looked at her again and she was smiling. Her beautiful smile, and gorgeous eyes.. The way she laughs, she really reminds me of Lily. I can't think about her, she is gone, I have to move on.. it is best for me.

Erin's POV

I knew if I told Kaylee, she'd tease me about Snape.. I would tell her if it didn't go away soon, but if something happened between him and I, she'd tell people, I mean this in the best way possible, but she gossips about everything, I love her. But she talks a lot, lol. I looked up to see Snape staring, again. He just can't get enough, I mean.. yeah.

"Why is like, staring. He might be looking at you, Rin." Harry said winking and I glared at him

"Shut up, Harry." I said

"Does Rin have a thing for our head of the house, Harry?" Kaylee asked

"N-no." He said nervously looking at me

"Right.." she said

After dinner Harry came up with us to our room and he left at 11, Kaylee fell right back to sleep when he left, I read for 30 minutes and got bored, I realized, I should be heading to Snape's office. I quickly put my regular clothes back on, a skirt, no leggings today because I honestly think it's too hot, my Slytherin shirt, and robes. I rushed down to Snape's office, hoping no one would see me. Dumbledore was in the hallway by Snape's office and I hid... Why am I sneaking out over a stupid guy...
