a/n: this kinda happened to me...kinda anyway hope u like it lol :))
homecoming was about two weeks away and at your school its very important that you don't show up alone so you were texting one of your good friends Jake and you were telling him how excited you were because you were starting to think that your crush at the time was FINALLY going to ask you to homecoming. Keep in mind you have been talking to this guy for a year and 2 months and you were basically ready to give up because you guys only hung out twice and nothing happened...at all. so your telling Jake that your so excited that he might ACTUALLY ask you to the dance and Jake texts back something very unexpected
y/n: "omg i think Grayson might be asking me to the dance rn"
Jake: "oh cool..."
******
so you leave jake on read and go back to your conversation with Grayson.....
Gray: "hey just wondering what color is your homecoming dress?"
y/n: "red why?"
Gray: "just curious
y/n: okay"
**like a half an hour later**
Gray: "hey so i was wondering if you would maybe possibly want to dance with me at homecoming?"
y/n: "sure"
Gray: "really?"
y/n: "yeah"
you were so mad about that because first of all all the guys at your school usually come up with really adorable ways to ask their date to homecoming and Gray...who you've been waiting forever for him to ask you just asks for a dance he didn't even want to spend the whole night with you! which is so stupid. you went back to talk to Jake and when you look at the texts you were so surprised and confused
Jake: "tbh i dont want Grayson to ask you to homecoming because i like you and ive liked you for awhile now."
y/n: what?? why have you never told me that before??"
Jake: "there was never a good time"
you remembered Grayson only asking for one lousy dance and you were so mad still and at least Jake was trying! sure he didnt do it in a cute way like you wanted but he still asked you to the WHOLE dance unlike Grayson so you basically give up on Grayson and decide to give all your attention to Jake but you weren't really completely sure that you even liked jake like that at all so you had a little time before homecoming to figure it out.

okay so its homecoming week and you and Jake are for sure going together but that day you had a hair appointment to get your hair done and earlier that day your brother had got in big trouble at school and your parents were not happy about it whatsoever. but while you were getting your hair done your dad left very quickly because your brother was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. so your were very nervous and your grandma was there and you asked if you should even still go to homecoming but your grandma said absolutely so you listened and after your hair appointment you got home and got ready and put on your dress and make up and this is how you looked
