*** i recommend staring at "it was cold outside" ✨☁️
kaycee watched as the waves crashed onto the shore and the sky turned shades of pink, purple and blue. the soft sand laid beneath her as the water trickled up to her toes. her curls waving gently in the soft breeze as someone sat next to her. she looked over at sean with a giddy smile as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
"thanks for coming sean, you made this birthday weekend ever better." she said genuinely. " i wouldn't have missed it for the world."
" i know you had a big offer to choreograph a dance this weekend, why would you give that up for me?"
"kaycee, you're my best friend, i would do absolutely anything for you. you mean the entire world to me and i would rather be here with you than dancing."
"but sean, you love dancing. why would you want to be here with me than doing something you love?"
"because kaycee i love you more than dance."
there was complete silence as they stared longingly in each other's eyes, slowly moving closer together. the only sound was the waves crashing softly, slowly moving up there legs.
their faces were inches apart, and sean's hand reached up to caress her face, slowly moving her hair behind her ear. "you're absolutely beautiful, kaycee caitlin rice." his eyes scanned her face and looked down to her lips. she looked up at him and nodded slightly, letting him know that this is what she wanted. his lips lightly grazed hers, pulling away slightly, afraid she would reject, but instead her hand reach for the side of his face and connected their lips. they moved in sync not breathing, until they were gasping for air.
they rested their foreheads on each other, both with a wide smile. "you have no idea how long i've waited to do that." sean whispered. "and you have no idea how long i've been waiting for you to do that." kaycee said with a sheepish smile.
they were about to dip their heads down for another when suddenly a wave crashed over their heads. they were completely soaked, and dying with laughter as they rolled in the sand clenching their stomachs from laughing so hard.
they got up still laughing when sean grabbed her hand while running into the ocean. "sean, what are you doing?!" kaycee said with laughter echoing from her mouth.
sean pulled her deep into the ocean, fully submerging themselves in the salty water. with smiles twice as wide as before, they began to splash each other with the crystal clear water. "sean stop!" kaycee screamed as he lifted her up by the waist into the air. she slid down in his arms, and he held her there," how did i get so lucky with you?" he smiled down at her.

without an answer kaycee brushed her lips against his, not in a teasing way, but in a way full of passion and love. they sat knee deep in the water, the sun disappearing beyond the horizon. sean pulled away, looking into kaycee's loving brown eyes, confusion filled her face as she wondered if she did anything wrong, she was about to ask when sean grasped her chin in his soft fingers, "kaycee rice, i'm so in love with you." sean whispered staring longingly in her eyes. "sean lew, i'm so in love with you too." she said with a beaming smile.
kaycee sat in sean's lap in the shallow water as they watched the waves gently splash against the sand. they stayed their for hours listening to the roaring ocean as they let everything melt away, leaving only them two.
/// two posts in one day what?! this was kinda my take on their hawaii trip for kaycee's birthday. i genuinely enjoyed writing this, this was definitely a favorite to write. it's pretty short, but it took quite some time to write it. i'm on my way back home from texas so that's how i'm finding the time to do this. please let me know what you think! comment any suggestions or criticism you have. thanks again! 🌻💖
