Flashback
The cold winter weather and the snow flakes falling on the ground, wouldn't stop him from coming home. Junhoe slowly opened his eyes, as he regained his conciousness.
He has to see her.
The pain in his chest started to strikes again. This time, it was more painful than before. He took a deep breath and released, hoping that it would help him to ease the pain. He slowly brought his head up from the steering wheel. His head was not pounding as hard as earlier. Which was good, means that at least he still has the chance to survive.
His hand moved up to touched his chest, and pressed it a little bit.
"Arrgh..." He groaned. The pain came back. And he just knew, he got a broken rib.
Then, he looked at his legs, trying to move them carefully. It was so hard and he could hear a slight of crack from his left leg. He sighed, knowing that it also broken.
His eyes scanned around to see trees everywhere. Where is this? He asked to himself.
Ah, he remembered, this is the forest below that road where his car fell off.
He didn't came out from his car yet, although he knew that his car was badly damaged from that crash. He was still trying to regained his energy to get out from his car. Because the pain and the cold he has to endure made it extremely hard for him to move a lot.
Suddenly, he remembered about his phone.
He looked for it on the dashboard, but it wasn't there. He continued to searched for his phone, until, his eyes went down to the gas pedal. There it was, turns out it fell off when the crash happened.
He bended his body slowly and endured the pain as he did so. His hand finally reached for his phone.
The screen had a severe cracked. Inside, he prayed that his phone was still working. He tried to unlocked it, and unexpectedly, the screen is on.
The first thing he saw on his phone was countless calls and messages from her. The love of his life.
He felt horrible for making her worried.
His finger pressed the recent notification.
You received a voicemail from Chaeyoung🖤
He clicked it, and soon her voice came out.
Junhoe-yah... Why are you not picking up my calls? I'm starting to worry. I don't know where you are now. Call me soon as you reach your apartment. Oh, and... I left you the pasta I made for dinner in the fridge, if you want to have it, just come by tomorrow. By the way, uhmm... Please, stay warm, okay? It's freezing outside. And...Please... call me as soon you reached your destination. I'm really worried Junhoe-yah. Just... Call me okay? I love you, so much.
Her voice was full of worry and it was enough to made him felt more guilty. He quickly dialed her number and called her soon after he heard her voicemail.
However, the line wouldn't connected because he was out of the coverage area.
He sighed. It was all useless.
He threw his head back. He couldn't imagine the looked on Chaeyoung's face right now. How worried she must be, and the cold night she had to pass by herself.
