I knew..."P̷̨̭͝ľ̶͚e̵͇̓a̶̬̾̓ş̸̧̚é̸̞̪̿.̴̦̑.̷͕̅.̸͖̅̔ ̵̱͠I̶̲̺̎'̶͖̭̈́̍m̵̮̝̆͝ ̸̳͎̊s̷̙̲͠o̶͇̯͑ȑ̷̖̆͜r̵͉͋̏y̵̝͗ͅ.̵̬̍̈́.̸̖͍̚.̶̻͓̚ ̷̨̇͝I̶̺̿͘'̴̱͒͠m̸̦̈́ ̴̖̫͑͘ś̵̖͝o̷̻͌r̵̠͠r̷̦̘̐ẙ̴̟̯.̵̢͙͌.̵̲̈́.̴̖̏̓ ̵̗̰̐͑s̷̡̻̏̌ỏ̴̼͉̓m̶̤̂ȅ̴̹̪o̶̗͠n̴̹̋͝e̶̫̳͘ ̴̟͛l̴̜̳̑̈́e̶̩̋t̴̜̻̿ ̷͚̹̄̇m̴̞͚̽̓ȩ̵͓̈́͌ ̵̹̘́g̵̬̰̓o̸̪̅.̵͉̎̽.̴͎́̕͜.̷̰̰͘ ̶̧̩͛̒s̷o̵m̸e̶o̶n̷e̷.̶.̵.̴ ̶p̷l̸e̸a̸s̵e̴ ̶I̸ ̷c̸a̶n̸'̶t̷.̵.̴.̶ ̵I can't... I can't."

"Pathetic. Even after everything he's done he gravels for mercy." I stopped short seeing him tied up like that. There were tears in his eyes and I frowned. His hair was silver and his eyes were red but it was Virgil. He looked just like he did in the gazebo.

"Monster." I looked up to see four women standing around him. One of them was clearly Avery. She looked at Virgil, with this confused curiosity. Meanwhile, the one in the hat scowled and glared at him.

"Evil." I wanted to punch them all. I mean he's literally crying and there only making it worse. Just what the hell did he do to deserve this.

"Pathetic." I felt someone grab my arm and I turned to see the Avery that brought me here on the verge of tears. How could they do this to him, just what did he do? He looked so broken.

"S̶͉͒͆Ḥ̷̉U̵͓̝̎͋T̴̬͠ ̷̘̹͋U̷̬̐͠P̶̦̥̋!̸̫̿" I jumped slightly at how warped his voice was. I never heard his voice glitch like that.

"Pitiful creature..." The other Avery called out, almost regretfully as Virgil struggled against the ropes. I wanted to cut them. I wanted to free him, but I wasn't actually there. What could I possibly do?

"I̴ ̴c̶a̵n̴'̷t̵ ̴t̸a̴k̶e̸ ̶t̵h̸e̴ ̷r̵o̶p̸e̵s̶.̷ ̶P̴l̸e̴a̵s̵e̴.̴.̵.̵ ̸I̸ ̵w̶o̵n̸'̷t̷ ̶d̸o̴ ̴a̶n̷y̶t̸h̵i̸n̸g̶,̸ ̴j̸u̵s̷t̶ ̷u̷n̵t̵i̶e̵ ̵m̸e̴.̵" It was breaking my heart. Literally! The one in the hat laughed and I saw Virgil flinch. The blonde one frowned and looked over towards the other but... I'm confused can she actually see with that cloth wrapped around her eyes? P̴͚̮̽͗̕ͅl̴̯̞̩͐̏͂ḙ̸̆.̸͙̌͛̈́.̵̼͈̾̃̆.̴̣̒͜͝ p̴l̸e̸a̷.̵.̴.̷ ̸" I could see the strain on his face and he shook himself. He looked like he was about to die. But with how the one in the hat is looking at him, I think that exactly what going through his head. "Please."

"Monsterous men like you get no requests." Monsterous... Ok, can I kill her? Who even is this person? "The only thing given to them is death." I tensed up and felt as Ava, as I am now going to call the one that brought me, held me back.

"Sister, please... Can't you see the pain in him?" I watched as the blonde one frowned.

"I only see the taint."

"SISTER!" I pulled myself out of Ava grasp and fell to my knees in shock and anger as these yellow translucent vines wrapped around Virgil's throat. The complete and utter fear in his eyes broke me so bad. I couldn't stop shaking. I wanted to stop her. I wanted to make those vines disappear. I hesitantly reached out and my eyes went wide. MMy hands were outlined with this purple glow. I'm confused.

"E̷̡̨͖͔͐̐N̶̙͎͗͐O̶̧̟̍͊̏U̸̢̧̩̗̳̍̈́̿̂͝G̷̟̮̭̀̉H̸̦̽͂͛̀͜!̵̟̹̜̝͋" I fell back as Virgil screamed out and the earth began to shake. The vines and rope slowly began to burn and Virgil fell to all fours, choking on the air that he was trying to breathe in. I watched as he just sat up, not bothering to run or fight. He was just going to let them do whatever... He just wanted the ropes off.

"He... Virgil was traumatized as a boy. He never actually spoke to me about it. I wasn't alive long enough for him too but... Lya knew." Ava pointed over at the blonde and I looked at her confused. You mean the Patton look-alike was the one that got close enough to him? "Yes, Roman, but she knew before he told her. It was her power."

"Sister calm yourself." The one Ava called Lya pushed the one in the hat's hand down and looked over at Virgil. "Do you not see the scars?" Scars? Virgil didn't seem to have any, at least not the ones he has in the future.

"We do not possess the same sight as you." I watched as Lya bent down beside Virgil and reached out. He flinched back and his eyes began to glow brighter. Everyone's eyes began to glow in response like they were on guard. I couldn't see Lya's but the blue glow around the cloth on her eyes was proof enough. Lya frowned as the rest went for there weapons and I just sat there confused and in shock.

"Hold on." She held her hand up and the others slowly relaxed. All except the one in the hat, who stood there weapon in hand. I saw Virgil look over to his side and the fear in his eyes... Lya pulled him into a hug drawing his attention to her and he latched on.  "It's ok. It's ok. It's ok. It's..."

"It's not ok, Lya! He killed everyone! Set the place on fire how can you..." Wait, What?

"Lydia, he his broken! His mind... His heart... He needs help." I looked over at Ava and she frowned.

"I don't understand. Why did that woman say that? What did she mean he killed everyone?" Ava ran a hand through her hair and sighed.

"You remember that story your grandfather used to tell you? The one about Eragon?" I nodded and she held her arms out. "This is it, Roman. This is the attack on the great forest." I started to shake my head and she smiled sadly. "We are the Druid Priestess and Virgil is the Prince of Roe."

"But that makes no sense. The father he did it in the story..." She shook his head and I spun around to see Virgil Pushing himself out of Lya's arms screaming. He was gripping his hair with eyes wide. He looked insane...

"He was."

"Was?" Ava pointed at Lya and I looked at her with confusion.

"He's broken, Roman. He always will be but... She helped him to get out from underneath it. She helped him break past his insanity. She helped him. I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little jealous."

"You lost me again." Ava just laughed and I crossed my arms.

"I was the reincarnation of Sophie. I was the shield. He's Aimon. A rider never loses there bond with their dragon even after death. I knew we were connected. You can't tell me you didn't feel that bond the moment you saw him."
