34. You're a doctor?!

I found myself in town completely confused. The suns up and Virgil's a dragon. We can't exactly talk. So the best option for him right now is to sleep. Ok, so find something to keep yourself busy, Roman. I looked around and just frowned. That's what I'm trying to do. Honestly, I've been stress shopping. I bought clothes, food, and the occasional book for Logan. I even went to talk to grandfather. Haven't done that in years...

I looked over the balcony and sighed. I just don't know what to do. There is so much I have to learn about myself and on top of that this mess with Virgil. Deceit did something to his eyes. Just like Lydia did to his control. I just don't know what they did. And if I don't know then, how do I fix it? Who do I even... I looked down to see a man walking by the fountain and this giant smile formed on my face. Question answered. Who better to talk to than him?!

"EMILE?!" I grabbed the railing and jumped over the balcony running over to this man, who had this horrified expression. I was so out of breath by the time got there I was light headed. "Doctor... Emile... Picani... Right? Professor in Psychotherapy and... Parapsychology?"

"Yes, are you ok? That was a very long drop." He looked up at the balcony and seemed to cringe. I just smiled and laughed.

"I'm an adventurer, Sir. I've done worse." He raised an eyebrow at me and I looked away. "Sir..."

"Please call me Emile. Sir seems too formal." He smiled brightly and fixed his tie. I looked him up and down and had to choke back a laugh. I didn't even notice. This guy looked like a Fusion between Logan and Patton. "Was there something you needed?"

"Oh, yes! Sorry... I needed some advice." He narrowed his eyes and nodded, taking my hand and leading over to a bench. I pushed his glasses up, folded his hands in his lap, and just smiled. I looked up at the sky and stretched back running a hand through my hair. Look at yourself, Roman. You're asking a therapist for help... "Sir... Emile... You're into parapsychology..."

"I have a doctorate in it so I suppose yes. I'm into it." He laughed and I rolled my eyes. "Not many seek me out because of my expertise in the paranormal though. Is there something specificly you..."

"Druids." He clammed up and narrowed his eyes. I sighed and just looked away. "Anything is better than nothing... which is my current knowledge level. Nothing."

"Anything, in particular, you want to learn?" I shook my head no but then stopped and thought about it. Deceit is a druid. He's that bitch Lydia. They both had the ability to... do something to Virgil. But... What?

"Let's say... hypothetically... That one of them did something to another, causing them to lose control over their power... or to g-go blind. How would one go about trying to fix it?" He raised an eyebrow at me and placed his hand on his chin thinking.

"What color?"

"What?" He looked over at me with this very serious look.

"What color was their magic? Every druid has a power that manifests in different ways but their aura is always the same color."

"Yellow." His eyes narrowed and he ran a hand through his hair. He clicked his tongue and I frowned.

"Well, darn it. The Projector... The original curse magic user. That isn't good, kid." I looked down and felt him grab my shoulder. "But hey, there is always a way. Who was it that got cursed?"

"Cursed?" He nodded and I started fiddling with my hands. "The... The Firestarter."

"What?!" He had this look of pure fear and I just looked away. "What? How? When?"

"Emile... He's... Well, he's not ok, but he isn't dangerous. Not right now anyway." He just gave me this flabbergasted look and I sighed. "He can't even move right now his leg is..."

"Show me!"

"WHAT?!" He shot me this look and I clammed up.

"Roman it is clear that you need my help. I am offering you my services but if it is in regards to another I must meet with them too. I only want to help." I looked around slightly anxious over this. Virgil doesn't know that I know any of this. He isn't aware of my part in it. "I can help."

"Ok, but..."

"EMILE, YOU STOOD ME UP!" I froze and Emile got this awkward look in his eyes. "I thought you were gonna meet me at Starbucks after your class. You never..." This man in a white tee shirt and a black leather jacket stopped in front of us and frowned, pushing his sunglasses down slightly peering over them at me. "Who the fuck is this?"

"Remi, this is Roman..." My eyes went wide as he just smiled. I never told him my name. Remi just raised an eyebrow at me and scoffed pushing his glasses back up and sipping his drink.

"You need sleep, dude. I can see the bags under your eyes. They aren't pretty." Thanks. That's what I wanted to hear when I left this morning. I frowned and Emile started to fidget. "Emi are we gonna go or what?"

"You already went, besides I got something better. You might even enjoy it." Emile said while smiling. Remi just shot him this confused look still sipping his drink and I frowned. I never actually agreed to take him... and when was it said that Remi was going too?

"Oh, and what would that be?" Remi tossed his cup in the trash without even looking and I rolled my eyes. Who the heck is this guy anyway? "And is it more fun than the club down the street."

"You don't even dance, or drink. You just sit there listening to the music. Plus it's crowded..." He held up his hand obviously going 'so', and Emile stopped. He looked over at me and smiled. "We going to see a dragon."
