~Sam's pov~

I hurried back from my mission because someone sent me a letter saying something was wrong with Regina. Sadly the letter wasn't specific.

I was worried she might be sick or worse hurt.

When I got to the kingdom I noticed a lot of people were wearing black as if they were in mourning.

My heart dropped and I went straight to the castle and there was a funeral in progress.

I dismounted Patr and cautiously walked over to the castle. I was scared of what I might see while praying to whoever is out there for it not to be Regina.

I could see everyone that worked in the palace were dressed in all black as well as the members of the court.

We I finally entered the courtyard where the funeral was taking place I saw a pure white casket.

My heart was beating extremely fast as I slowly walked toward the casket. My mouth went dry and I found it hard to breathe.  I stopped at the casket as I closed my eyes and managed to take a deep breath.

I hate to say when I opened my eyes I was relieved to see it wasn't Regina laying in the casket. I was still saddened it was her husband.

"Sam?" I turned around to see a crying Princess Snow.

"I'm so sorry for your lose." I said before I pulled her into a hug. She has grown a bit since I last saw her a year ago.

She may only be 16 but she looks like a grown woman now, but sorrow can do that too.

I turned to see Regina in the corner dressed in all black. She also looked even angrier than normal.

Regina stormed out of the courtyard and I let go of Snow.

"I'll be back ok. I'm sorry about your father."  I said before she nodded and I ran after Regina.

"Regina!"  I yelled after her and she turned to face me.

All I have to say is if looks could kill I'd be dead a hundred times over.

"Regina why are you angry?"

"I don't know maybe its because you chose that spoiled brat over me?" She shouted before turning around and starting to walk away.

"I didn't choose her over you. She is hurting she lost her only remaining parent." I said as I grabbed her arm forcing her to stop. "How you you feel if you lost your father? It would be worse than when you lost Daniel."

"Leave him out of this." She spay her threats like venom.

"Too late. I was there to comfort you when he died was I not?" I asked and she refused to look at me. "I came here today because I was told something was wrong with you. I saw the kingdom dressed in black. I thought you were the one who died, but that's not the case."

My hands were balled into fists because I was angry at her.

"You call Princess Snow a spoiled brat, because you blame her for what happened. Yet you're the one acting like you deserve the world because your heart has grown cold." I said before stepping away from her. "You need to open your eyes. The world isn't against you and there are people who want to help you. You have people who care for you and hope you are well."
