Ruby and I ended up going to the Bad Wolf for our date, and it was crowded and full of people tonight.

It got too crowded for me on the dance floor, so I told Ruby I was heading to our table.

At least, that's what I told her.

I saw how she was looking at that girl she had met at the bar. Sure enough, when I sat down to look at her dance, she was dancing with that girl. Well, more so on that girl.

After a while of more dancing, she finally came back to the table.

"Hey, why aren't you out there dancing?" She asked as she took a drink of my coke.

She cringed as if I was drinking gasoline.

"I didn't want to bother you. You seemed to be having fun." I smiled, and she looked at me like she was saddened.

"I thought we were having a date?"

"We are. I just was feeling too crowded and needed a little space. That doesn't mean you shouldn't have fun."

She sighed before looking around and seeing how truly crowded the bar was.

"Hey, I have some work to do for the Charmings tomorrow. Do you mind if we continue tonight back at my place?" I asked as I pulled her closer to hear me better.

"Yeah, ok..." she sighed softly enough that I could pretend not to hear it.

"I'll go pay our tab." I smiled at her before I walked over to the bar and paid our bill for the night.

When I turned around, I saw Ruby and the girl were together again, and they exchanged numbers.

"Your girl seems to be a bit friendly tonight." Ted motioned over to Ruby when I turned around.

"It's good for her. She shouldn't stop being happy for me."

"You're an idiot sometimes, Sam." He shook his head and handed me my receipt.

"Maybe it's a good thing I am." I smiled before heading back over to Ruby.

The mystery girl had apparently just headed back over to the dance floor.

"Who was that?" I asked, trying to make conversation.

She brushed off my question as if she didn't hear it.

"Ruby, if you want to stay and dance with your friend, I'm fine with that."

She perked up at me, saying that, but shrank back down a bit.

"But what about you?" She asked, seeming concerned.

"I'll be fine. Just call me when you want me to come to pick you up or when you decide to go home. So I know you're ok."

She seemed to be debating going back to dancing with her friend.

"Ruby. Go have fun. I'll be there when you need me."
