I looked down at the unconscious woman laying in this hospital bed and even when she's in a coma she amazes me.

I honestly couldn't say how many times I've seen her like this. Yet I am never able to do anything for her.

"How are you so different?" I asked her knowing she wouldn't respond.

She never did have it easy. In this world or any other world at that. Yet she still hasn't given up.

"What I would give to have your motivation." I whispered to her. "Hey do you want to hear a story?"

I paused waiting for an answer, but I knew one wasn't going to come.

"I heard they are good for people in a coma. It keeps your brain active hearing things."

Am I going crazy I'm talking to someone I don't even know if they can hear me.

"This story is about a girl that felt alone, but was just too scared to realize she wasn't alone. Even when she thought she wanted to be." I sat down next in a chair next to Sam's hospital bed.

~Sam's pov~

I can't believe it's been two years since Robin saved me. He took me to a woman that had a nice granddaughter that really liked this pretty red cloak. Anyway they actually took care of me there and after I was better I managed to find Robin again.

He was surprised to learn I actually could use the sword I was found with and that I'm also a pretty good thief.

He's let me help him out with a few of his raids and we stole money from a tyrant and gave most of it back to the people. The first couple times it was odd and a little hard to do but it's gotten easier after I could see the people better.

Hook taught me that it's either we help ourselves or we die, but Robin is different. He only takes what he needs and gives the rest away.

That part is still pretty hard for me.

"Sam. Come here." Robin called me over and pulled me away from my thoughts.

"Yes?" I asked as I walked over to him.

"What do you see there?" He pointed at a carriage.

"A white carriage with golden trim. And a purple bird painted on the side."

"Good what else." He asked as the carriage began to turn on the twisted path.

"A man sitting inside counting his money."

"Good do you know who that man is?"

I shook my head.

"He is a king, but he's not corrupted like the others. The money he is counting came from his own pocket. He's heading pay a doctor his wife is sick and he is scared of having to raise their daughter alone."

"Is that why we aren't taking back what he stole?" I asked a I slowly gripped the handle of my sword.

I was still tempted to steal the money that guy had with him.

"He is giving away his money to try save his wife. So he doesn't leave his daughter without a mother." Robin looked out at the carriage. "We came here today to make sure he gets to his doctor with the money to pay him."

"Who is he?"

"King Leopold." Robin began to walk toward our horses. "You know Sam I've been wondering why out of the two years we've know each other why haven't you told my you were a pirate yet?"

"I didn't think..."

"You didn't think I'd trust you?" Robin asked as he mounted his horse and looked at me. "Probably not at first, but you were just a kid. You have good heart. You are skilled with that sword yet you still don't kill a man in a fight. You can steal from pretty much anyone we tell you yet you haven't stolen from us and run off."

"You brought me in when I was hurt. So yea I wouldn't take from you. I was taught not to kill." I spoke softly.

We were quiet the rest of the trip. The man got to his doctor and paid him. Now we had to make sure they both got back to the kingdom safely.

I did happen to over hear more about the man and his family. The woman suddenly got very sick and his daughter is seven years old would be mother less.

"Some people do fine without parents." I said softly to comfort myself.

I thought he couldn't hear me but I was wrong.

"Not everyone is lucky to survive without parents. I also wouldn't brag about not having parents, it doesn't make you better than anyone else." He said taking what I said wrong.

"I wasn't bragging." I said even softer.

I was honestly jealous. This little girl has a family that cares for her and a father doing anything to keep them together. I wish I had that.

"Hey the reason I brought you out here today and not someone else, is I want to ask you something." Robin asked finally after we had finished making sure the king made it home with the doctor.

Not that anything exciting happened.

"Ok."

"I've been talking with the men and they agree with me. It's only if you want to." Robin spoke dragging out what he was wanting to ask. "Do you want to join the Merry men?"

"But I'm a girl."

"That's just a name. It doesn't seclude anyone from joining us." He laughed. "What matters is your heart and I see one that's going to do great things for this world."

I stopped my horse and watched him. He was excited about me possibly join his band of arms.

"So what do you say Sam? Do you want to join the Merry Men?" He asked. "It doesn't have to be permanent, just something for you to do if you'd prefer."

I thought extremely hard for a few minutes and I decided I'd give it a shot. I know that I will still be doing the same thing as before but they will let me do more jobs and maybe they'll let me do some jobs alone. Plus I don't have to stay forever.

"Yeah. I'll join. Not that it'll be permanent, but for now i will." I said proudly before we rode back into the camp.

"Welcome to the Merry Men."
