~Sam's pov~

It's been a few weeks since Ruby and I have been spending more time together. We've been classifying ourselves as close friends with benefits, but we are technically a couple currently.

The main people to know this are Snow and Emma.

They tend to ask us to go on double dates and such. I guess going on double dates with your daughter or mother can make things a bit uncomfortable.

Currently we are on a double date with Snow and David. Snow managed to catch us off guard after we had hooked up in the bathroom at Granny's during Ruby's break.

We ended up saying yes and now we are having a picnic in the park since there is supposed to be some sort of movie marathon playing tonight.

Snow was laying so that she was using David's lap as a pillow and Ruby was literally sitting in between my legs using my chest as a pillow.

Thankfully they let me choose where we would sit so I chose a place where I could lean against a tree.

I was bored because the movie that was playing was a romance movie. If I didn't have food let alone some of Snow's cooking to eat then I would probably be asleep.

"Sam did you make these?" David asked as he held up a cookie.

"Yeah." I said nervously.

"They are really good." He smiled. "They remind me of the ones my mother use to make when I was younger."

"I'm glad you like them." He passed me one of the oatmeal raisin cookies.

"I can never figure out how she made them taste so good. She always said it her secret ingredient." He laughed.

"Well I just add a dash of cinnamon and a little vanilla."

"I don't think I ever tried that." Snow added with a smile.

They continued to watch the film, while I finally managed to fall asleep.

I wasn't sure how many movies had passed by but I felt Ruby move so I became aware of them talking.

"I'm just happy she's finally getting some real sleep." I heard Ruby whisper.

"What do you mean?" Snow asked.

"She doesn't really sleep, and when she does she doesn't stay asleep more than an hour." Ruby seemed to be explaining while still sitting in between my legs. "She doesn't think I notice that she gets up in the middle of the night. Not that it's my business what she does, but she leaves. She always runs somewhere. It's like she doesn't want it to be known or that she's running from something in her sleep."

"You haven't followed her?" Snow asked sounding surprised.

"It's not my place. If she wants to tell me then she will." She laughed a little. "Despite what everyone thinks we aren't a normal couple. She needs someone there for her. Someone that's willing to help her out no matter what the thing that needs to be done."
