~Samantha's pov~Time has flown by fast since Emma took the painting. I have so many paintings that I'm not exactly sure which one she took and it's been driving me crazy.
I know Emma had turned it in earlier today, but I don't have anymore access to the town until tomorrow morning right before showing, because it was locked when I went to go back.
So now I found myself sitting at the bar and for the first time in a while I was here not working and not having a drink.
I was drinking a coke while chatting with Ted. We were talking about the art show tomorrow morning.
"I'll be right back." He smiled before he went over to the other side of the bar.
As soon as I focused my attention to the dripping water from the ice case across the bar I felt someone wrap their arms around me just above my waist.
"Why aren't you partying with the rest of the crowd? Sammy it's boring without you." Ruby gently spoke in my ear.
I could smell whiskey on her breath which was different from her usual fruity drink one. She was also acting more seductive than normal.
"I'm not really in a partying mood tonight." I said as I turned to face her, which also caused her to loose her grasp on me.
"That's a shame. It's always fun when you join." She dropped the seductive act and sat down next to me. "Since it's no fun here tonight why don't you go show me some of your painting so I can get an idea of what I'm looking for tomorrow?"
"How do you know I submitted a painting?" I asked surprised she knew.
"I ran into Emma today and she told me. But she wouldn't let me see it." She said as she grabbed my coke and took a drink. "She said it's a surprise."
"Well it's a surprise for me to. I don't know which one she took." I said as I took back my coke.
"So can I see the rest of your paintings?" She asked as if she was expecting to be rejected.
"Ok. You can come look at some of the paintings, and I'll give you some coffee so you're somewhat sober when you leave." I stood up and paid my bill then I decided to be nice and pay hers. "But it only paintings and coffee tonight."
"Ok. Paintings and coffee."
I quickly chugged the rest of my coke and we headed out to my car.
"If you fall asleep in my car I'm taking you to Granny's." I said once she was buckled up.
"I won't fall asleep in your car, but I can't promise not falling asleep in your house." She smirked like she was planning something but I just brushed it off since she is clearly drunk.
As I walked Ruby up to my apartment we ended up bumping into Mary just outside my door.
"Samantha." She said in a questioning tone as she nudged her head toward Ruby.
"Go inside and sit on the couch don't touch anything. I'll be inside to make coffee in a minute." I instructed as I unlocked my door and opened it.
