Kaz: I've just received a letter from Pim who, as most of you know, has been in the colonies for the last month to check up on sugar and jurda production. Apparently, a group under the leadership of an unidentified gang has been terrorizing the farms, exploding silos and threatening landowners. Luckily, none of our fields have been damaged yet. However, the group seems to be targeting privately owned farms that have ties to Ketterdam. With the cold season on its way, crops will be in high demand. This could damage us greatly, so I need all of you on Black Veil at two o'clock. Wylan, bring your sketchbook. 

Kaz: Guys it's been thirty minutes why has nobody said anything? 

Kaz: I have to leave my phone on silent just to get a good night's sleep because all you guys do is message each other back and forth, but you have nothing to say when I actually bring up a serious topic? 

MatthiasHelvar: lol

MatthiasHelvar: It means laugh out loud

Kaz: I feel like I've been very patient throughout all of this, but I honestly cannot believe you guys can't see how serious of an issue this is.

Inej: we do see it, and we're all going to come to the meeting, okay?  

Jesper: nina, can you pass me the syrup 

Nina: yeah sure

Kaz: ?

Nina: hey, you said you didn't want to come

Kaz: Come to what?

Inej: you said you invited him! 

MatthiasHelvar: OMG

Jesper: come on, he wouldn't have wanted to come anyway

Wylan: true

Kaz: I don't care that you didn't invite me, but Matthias? Omg? Really? 

Nina: it means oh my ghezen, you should have come to see the powerpoint presentation me and jes did on all the different acronyms and slang commonly used through text communication   

Kuwei: inej, where did you say the extra blankets were? 

Inej: they're in my dresser, I was headed up there anyways i'll grab them

Kaz: Kuwei you have ten seconds to get off this chat and forget you ever read any of this before I turn you in to the Stadwatch.

Wylan: Kaz is finally starting to make sense. 

Nina: kuwei never hurt anyone

Kaz: This is a private chat. I only let the six most trusted members of the Dregs into it. Now I know that was a mistake because none of you seem to have an ounce of maturity in you, but now Kuwei knows information that is vital to the gang's success. What if he was working undercover for the Razorgulls? 

Kuwei: what's  a razorgulls??

Inej: see? he's too stupid to cause any damage to the gang

Inej: how about I meet you at the Slat and we can get hot chocolate, will that make you less stressed?

Nina: no don't leave! (also if you do get hot chocolate can I have whipped cream on top of mine?) 

Jesper: cinnamon with mine please

MatthiasHelvar: Kuwei, do not mind the demon. He's upset because we invited you all the way from Ravka and we didn't invite him even though he lives five minutes away. 

Kaz: Trust me, that is the least of my concern right now. 

Kaz: I have tried reasoning with you people. I have found ways that this whole groupchat thing can be fun and beneficial. But none of you understand that just because we aren't talking in person, doesn't mean I'm not the same gang leader who has been giving you instructions that have both saved your life and your fortune time and time again. I demand more respect than this. I'm going to mute the chat and wait on Black Veil where you, for your own sakes, better be at two o'clock.

Jesper has removed Kaz from the Dregs

MatthiasHelvar: Jesper, do you realize what you've just done?

Jesper: what?? he was trying to make it not fun anymore :/

Wylan: You've just kicked Kaz Brekker, Dirtyhands, the deadliest kid in Ketterdam, out of his own gang's main way of communicating. 

Jesper: OOF

Nina: inej, go check on him, make sure he's not plotting jesper's death

Kuwei: I have a question.

Wylan: Go ahead.  

Kuwei: We're all sitting like two feet apart from each other, why are we still using our phones to communicate? 

MatthiasHelvar: I have been wondering the same thing myself, yet something was refraining me from asking. Ever since I've been given this device, I can feel myself changing. 

Inej: i've actually noticed this too, I feel different 

Jesper: oh man, what are we going to do?

Wylan: Probably nothing.

Inej: nothing

Nina: i don't feel like doing anything im really tired can we just watch a movie and go to sleep?

MatthiasHelvar: What's a movie?
