Day 19

Friday, the day before.

I'm woken up by phone buzzing repeatedly signaling someone is calling me. I pick it up and say "Hello?" My voice still groggy since I had just woken up. "Hi!" I hear a chirpy Australian and immediately know it's Luke.

   I groan and say "Why are you calling me at 3:00 in the morning?!" Luke laughs and says "Just come outside, well first get dressed then Come outside." "Okay?" I respond, but he had already hung up.

    I did my daily routine, but didn't put on makeup simply because it was too early. I then walk to my closet and grab my black long sleeves shirt, a scarf, skinny jeans, and black and white converse.

   I throw my hair into a messy bun and grab my phone and backpack then walk outside. I see it's still dark and all the stars were still out, I also see a tall and excited Luke leaning on his car.

   I rub my eyes and go over to him. He pulls me a hug and I don't complain because it was freaking cold and his body heat was keeping me alive.

"So why did you wake me up at 3 in the freaking morning?!?!" He laughs and says "We're going to the city and that's all I'm saying." I roll my eyes and go to the passenger side of the car.

   I loved going to the city, but damn I am not a morning person. Luke had opened the door for me so I watch as he walks around the car to the drivers side.

   When he gets in he turns on the car and I sigh in relief when I feel the heater. Luke turns on the radio, but not loud it was more of a quiet background noise. I watch out the window as everything passes in a blur the trees, houses, cars.

   Then we get on the highway and I see the sign New York City and see Luke go in that direction. I smile slightly and ask "So How did you manage to wake up so early." I look at Luke and he shrugs then says "I don't know, I just couldn't sleep and then I thought 'hey why not take my best friend to the city?'" I laugh at his cuteness and watch the road ahead.

25 minutes later we get off the highway and were now driving through the brightly lit city. We take so many turns I got lost and just watched as Luke drove obviously trying to get to a certain place.

   When we stopped we were parked in front of a tall office building. I furrow my eyebrows at Luke who just gets out and walks to my side and opens the door for me.

   When I get out he grabs my hand and slowly intwines our fingers making me bite back a smile and also make me feel fireworks explode through me. Luke starts walking and pulls me along, the security guard was asleep at the front desk so me and Luke crept by quietly, when we get to a elevator and get in I ask Luke "Are we allowed to be here?!?!"

   Luke shrugs and says "I come here all the time so whatever." I cross my arms letting go of Luke's hand, but he just wraps his arm around my waist pulling me closer to him, when he did that I felt like a hurricane was in my stomach.

A million floors later we were on the 100th floor. Luke's arm was still around my waist and he pulls me to a small set of stairs and we walk up them. Luke gets in front of me and slowly opens the door.

   I follow behind and when we get up there Luke covers my eyes and I say "Luke what are you doi-" I cut myself off when he uncovers my eyes and I see the amazing view of New York City. My eyes were watering at the beautiful spot.

   I walk closer to the edge and lean on the short wall that was there to keep people from falling. "Wow this is amazing." Luke walks behind me wrapping his arms around me from behind, he then leans his head on my shoulder and says "Yeah, so was it worth waking up at 3:00 in the morning?"
