You fixed up your mascara a little bit and went into the kitchen, pulling your hoodie strings tighter. Jake was filming for a video and you photobombed him and started dancing in the background as he talked. You danced for about twenty seconds before squinted at the camera as he saw you and then turned around. You burst out laughing.
"I didn't even know who you were for a second, that scared the actual shit out of me bro." You walk over to him and hug him and he smiles before you step back and sit on the counter behind him.
Jake was like a little brother to you and he was basically your best friend (other than Colby). You two had a really strong bond and you loved to mess around with him, especially when he was filming. You made a sort of cameo appearance in every one of his videos and a lot of his fans made compilations of every time you would randomly show up in his videos.
"Well, hope you all enjoyed Y/N dancing but ANYWAY..."
You laugh and he continues talking. Pretty soon, you get bored of watching him and go upstairs to the room you shared with Colby. You see him at his desk, editing some clips for YouTube.
He sees your reflection on the screen and turns around, taking out one of his earbuds.
As he looks at you, he seems concerned.
"Hey baby, you feeling alright? You look pale."
"Yeah Colbs, I'm fine. I've had a bad headache all day and my heartbeat is going a little crazy but otherwise I feel ok."
He arches one of his eyebrows at you.
"Are you sure?"
"I'm just gonna lay down for a bit and see if it goes away, I don't think it's too serious."
He stands up and stretches, a little bit of his stomach peeking out from under his tank top. You poke his stomach and he swats at your hand playfully. You laugh and he does too before you turn and take a couple steps towards the bed.
Suddenly, the room is spinning and your head feels heavy. You try to take another step but your legs give out and everything rapidly goes black.
Colby catches you before you hit the ground and pulls you over to the bed, panicking. He leans you up against it and steps back for a second.
He looks around momentarily before practically sprinting down to the kitchen to get Jake.
"Dude you gotta come upstairs, Y/N just fucking passed out bro."
Jake leans forward and shuts off the camera quickly.
"What?"
"She was talking to me and she just passed out, I don't know what happened." Jake gets up and they both run back upstairs and to your side.
"Why does she look so pale?"
"I have no idea, she said she had a headache and that her heartbeat was going crazy but she was acting fine just a minute ago." Colby shook you a little in an attempt to wake you up before making a decision.
"Can you drive us to the hospital? I'll sit in the back with her."
Jake nods and Colby throws on a hoodie. He picks you up and carries you downstairs and out to Jake's car. He opens the door and sits down, holding you bridal style in his lap as your head rests on his shoulder.
Jake gets in and drives to the hospital. It's about 10 minutes away and Colby looks down at you every few seconds to make sure you're still breathing.
Jake nervously looks back at you a couple times. Neither of the boys say anything the whole way there.
Once you parked, Jake opened the door and Colby got out, still carrying you. He took you into the E.R section of the hospital and quickly went up to the receptionist at the front desk.
"Can you get someone to check her out right now please? It's urgent."
"Name sir?"
"Colby Brock."
"I'll page the doctor, he should be ready to see you in a few minutes." Colby thanks her and sits next to Jake in the waiting room chairs.
He kisses your forehead and moves your legs over the arm of the chair.
A couple minutes later, a young nurse comes out into the waiting area and calls for Colby. She leads him down a long hallway and into a room, where the doctor is at the sink washing her hands.
"You can put her on the table."
Colby does as he is asked and gently lays you down on the table.
"I'll check her out and make sure she's going to be okay. You can go back to the waiting room."
"Do I have to?"
"Kinda. We need the working room. Nothing will happen to her, I promise."
Reluctantly, he leaves and goes back out to where Jake was.
"I hope she's okay bro, I miss my baby already."
"Don't worry, she'll be fine. Things just happen sometimes."
Colby nods and they proceed to sit in tense silence, waiting for an answer from the doctor.
Jake was as scared for you as Colby was because you were very close to him as a friend.
After about 10 or so minutes, the nurse comes back and tells him that he can come back in. Jake stays behind.
Colby stands on the side of the table opposite of the doctor.
"She's your girlfriend I'm guessing?" He nods.
"First things first; she will be okay." Colby let's out a sigh of relief and looks down at you for a second.
"Second, have you ever noticed any symptoms similar to the ones she had before she passed out?" He shakes his head.
"Your girlfriend has a condition known as anemia, which means that her body doesn't have enough healthy red blood cells. Some symptoms include headaches, nausea, pale skin, and sometimes heartbeat fluctuations. Sometimes, the patient will pass out, as in circumstances like this one, but they usually come out of it in a little while."
Colby nods, getting a little worried about you as she continued to talk.
"I'm going to prescribe some pills for her that will help with this condition and stabilize her blood a bit more. She needs sugars, vitamins, and antioxidants as well. As long as she takes the medicine and you make sure she gets those things after she wakes up, she should return to normal pretty quickly." Colby nods and thanks the doctor for helping.
"By the way, did she ever mention anything about it to you?"
"She's never told me that she had it."
"Well, at least you know now. You can take her out to the front desk to check out. Have a good day."
Colby takes the pills and thanks the doctor again before scooping you up and walking out. He goes to the front desk and pays for the medicine before going back to Jake.
"Well?"
"Apparently she has anemia, which is where she doesn't have enough red blood cells in her body. The doctor gave me some pills and said that she would be fine in a little while."
Jake nods and they both walk out to the car. He drives everyone home and helps Colby get you inside safely. He thanks Jake who goes back to film his video after.
Colby lays next to you in the bed, his arm wrapped around you and holding you close to his chest.
Soon enough, you came to and looked around for a couple seconds, initially confused but then calm as Colby kissed you.
"I'm glad you're alright, you had me scared."
You snuggle closer to him. He starts to explain what happened and what the doctor said.
It's silent for a while after that. You don't really know what to say to him and you feel a little embarrassed.
"Why didn't you tell me baby?"
You shrug slightly.
"I forgot?"
Colby laughs a bit.
"You're a bad liar, you know that right?" This causes you to smile.
"I just don't like to tell people about it. It makes me feel out of place I guess."
"Well I still love you the same no matter what happens, don't you ever forget that."
He kisses you again and hugs you tighter, at which point you begin to drift off to sleep, wrapped up in his arms comfortably as you listen to his heartbeat.

after receiving a HUGE amount of support and love for the "pregnant" story and the request I did before this one, I've decided to write several more parts to them!!!
you guys liked them a lot more than I anticipated and I kinda fell in love with them too so I'm going to continue with them (they might be the only thing I write for the next couple weeks or so besides requests lol just so I can finish them)
