Shadow's Change

Chapter 10

Shadow POV

   After the meeting with the doctor, we come back home. I have a picture of our baby with me, I can't stop looking at it... It's right there with me... It's real... I'm so happy.

Rouge came when I told her how was the appointment, she wanted to see the picture as well.

''Aww! It's so cute! Do you know if it's a boy or a girl?'' Rouge says looking at the picture of my baby. ''Not yet, we will be able to know in a month for sure.'' I say happily. She then hugs me. ''I'm so happy for you Shadow, you know that.'' I smile at her. ''Of course, Thanks Rouge.'' She looks at me with a smile. ''Everyting for you, hun.''

She left after some time, Sonic and I just spend the rest of the day talking and watching some TV.

At night, I go to bed with Sonic, we said goodnight to eatch other and Sonic fells asleep, I just strocke my belly gently, I fell like something bad will happen... Everything will be fine... Right?

   One month later...

   This month have been rough... My mood swings have been out of control... I become angry against Sonic for nothing... And then when I realize what I have done I start to cry... Sonic said that it's fine but I don't want to be like that...

Today we are going to the doctor for a check up on the baby, and to know its gender too, I really want to know.

I'm laying on the bed, waiting for the doctor to come back, I'm a little nervous actually...

Sonic squeezes my hand softly. ''You're not happy to see it? We will know its gender, I can't wait.'' He smiled happily to me. This past month he really showed me that he wanted this baby and it makes me so happy.

''Of course I'm happy. I want to know its gender to be able to buy things for it, I want that it have everything it needs. I just feel like something bad will happen...'' He kissed my hand, making me blush. ''Don't worry, okay? I'm here and I already promised you that I'll protect you and our child, so everything will be fine.'' ''You're right... You always know how to makes me feel better, huh?'' Smiling cutely at him. It makes him giggles. ''Of course, it's my job after all. I like to make people happy, especially you.~'' He grinned at me making me blush. He knows me too well...

''So, the machine is ready, I'll put the gel on your belly, just like the last time.'' The doctor said, coming back with the machine. He puts this freacking gel on me again, I shiver from the cold and he put the machine on me. ''There are your baby.''

I smiled at the sight, it has little fingers and toes and we can see its quills better now.

The doctor looked at us, asking. ''Your baby is healty and growing nicely, you want to know its gender?'' I nod, gripping Sonic's hand, He just smiles at me and strokes my hand. The doctor smiled. ''Let's see then.'' He looked fora minute until...

   ''Congratulations. You have a wonderful baby boy.''

I feel the tears of happiness come in my eyes... A boy... He will be perfect...

''A boy? It's wonderful.''Sonic said happily while kissing my cheek, making me chuckle.

''Yes, and soon you will be able to feel him move.'' I look at the doctor. ''Really?'' ''Ofcourse, it happens in the four to five months, so you're right in it.'' I grin happily. I can't wait to feel him move...

   Coming back home, I couldn't stop talking about what I wanted for my baby boy. Sonic laughed all the way back home at how exited I am. But I don't care, I like showing him my happiness.

''You seem to have some ideas already, but let me do it, I want to surprise you.'' I pouted a bit. ''But I want to do that too...'' He smiles gently. ''Shad, I want to do something for our baby boy as well. Let me do his room, and if you don't like it you will be able to change it.'' I smile at him and hug him. ''I'm sure it will be perfect.'' He smiles and hugs me back.

   I love Sonic so much.
