A/N: *The other main characters will debut in the next chapter.*
Barry's POV:
I get a text from IrisShe won't tell me where we're going and it's kind of nerve wrecking. Iris and I have hung out just the two of us before so there's no reason for me to be so damn nervous, but I am.
5:55 pm
Iris pulls up to my house and blows her horn. She knows that, that drives my Dad crazy. That could be why she does it. Good thing my Dad isn't home. No big surprise there. Anyway I go outside get in Iris' car and we're off.Barry: Can you please tell me where we're going?
Iris: No and don't ask me anymore. Just sit back relax and enjoy the ride.
Barry: Bossy much?
Iris: Duh!
Iris POV:
It's quiet for about ten minutes then Barry breaks the silence.Barry: So what'd you do to pass the time before picking me up?
Iris: Oh-uh I just sat and read.
Barry: Cool.
So I lied, but I didn't wanna tell Barry about my date with Eddie. I know Barry likes me. He's liked me for a hell of a long time he's just too afraid to say anything. If I'm honest I like him too, but the problem is I also like Eddie. I'm torn from my thoughts by the sound of Barry's voice.
Barry: (loudly) Iris?!
Iris: Yea...Sorry.
Barry: (concerned) You okay?
Iris: Yea I'm good. I just got lost in thought that's all.
Twenty minutes later.
Barry POV
Iris pulls into an abandoned parking lot.Iris: We're here. Put this on.
She hands me a blindfold.
Barry: (worried) Why?
Iris: So you don't see the surprise you goof.
Barry: (worried) I'm not so sur...
Iris: (smacks lips) Just do it Bartholomew!
I put the blindfold on.
Barry: Happy?
Iris: (excitedly) Yes. Now stay here I'll be back in about five minutes. Don't take the blindfold off.
Barry: Okay
I hear Iris get out of the car then I hear her in the trunk. I'm not sure what she's up to and I'm getting more and more nervous. Once I hear the trunk close there's complete silence for what seems like an eternity.
A few minutes later
Iris opens the car door and grabs my hand.Iris: Come on.
She helps me out of the car. She locks the door with the remote and she guides me as we walk.
Iris: Hold on to me because we're going up a hill.
We get to the top of the hill and she takes off my blindfold. I'm amazed at what I see.
Barry: (shocked) WOW! You did this for me?!
Iris: Of course. Now sit.
Iris and I sit and began eating the food from the picnic basket.
Barry: It's beautiful up here.
Iris: I come here when I need to unwind clear my head and relax. I spend hours up here.
Barry: How'd you even find this place? It's so secluded.
Iris: Remember when I ran away at twelve?
Barry: Yea because you thought that you were the "forgotten twin." Everyone was going crazy trying to find you for hours. Still not cool.
Iris: (giggles) I came back geez! Anyway I stumbled on this place and sat here the entire time just looking at the sky. I've been coming here ever since whenever I need to clear my head. My own little secret spot.
Barry: Well it's not such a secret anymore.
Iris looks at me with soft tender eyes.
Iris: Yes it is. It's just our little secret now.
Barry: Thank you for doing this.
Iris: Anything for you Bare.
We lie down and watch the dusk turn into complete darkness. Iris plan actually worked. I've never been so relaxed and peaceful before.
