Barry's POV:
I had been going to Iris' secret spot every day for the last two months hoping she'd be there, but she never was. She'll be there today though for sure. Ive been sitting in my car for about ten minutes wondering if I should go there. She may not even be there I could just be being hopeful. Only one way to find out.*Thirty minutes later*
I get to the top of the hill and there she is lying on a blanket looking up at the sky.
Iris: I was hoping you would come.
She sits up and pats the space next to her and I quickly sit down next to her.
Barry: You were hoping I'd come?
Iris: Well I know you saw the look I gave you in the cafeteria and I knew Wally would tell everyone what I said. I guess I was just hoping you'd put two and two together.
Barry: I came up here every day for the last two months hoping you'd be here.
Iris: I kind of figured you would so I stayed away.
Barry: Why today?
Iris: I couldn't stay away anymore.
She bites her lower lip. It's so cute.
Barry: From your secret spot or me?
Iris: Both. I missed you Barry. I miss all of you, but I miss you the most.
Barry: I missed you too Iris. These last two months have been hell.
Iris: Tell me about it.
I grab her hand.
Barry: I'm sorry.
Iris: Me too.
I don't want to lose her again so I better go ahead and tell her how I really feel. Here goes.
Barry: Iris I should of done this a long time ago, but I was afraid. The truth is I like you Iris. No scratch that I love you Iris. I know we're only seventeen, but I can honestly say that I've loved you since the seventh grade. I...
I get cut off when Iris leans in and kisses me. I'm in shock, but quickly return the kiss. We pull away after a minute or two.
Iris: I love you too Barry.
Before I know it Iris and I are making out and I couldn't be happier. I pull away and look into her eyes.
Barry: Iris West would you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?
Iris: Yes I'll be your girlfriend.
Barry: (shocked) Really?!
Iris: Yes you skiddish little nerd you, but...
Barry: Your parent's?
Iris: My parent's.
Iris parents are very protective of their children especially their baby girl. Any guy who even thinks he wants to be her boyfriend has to get her parents seal of approval or it isn't happening.
Barry: Maybe I should go talk to them now. Better to get it out the way before we...
I pause.
Iris: What?
Barry: Before we all go to Big Bear tomorrow, but you won't be there.
Iris: Yes I will.
Barry: (confused) But Wally said...
Iris: I know. I was supposed to go with Ralph, Parker and Eddie, instead they're coming to Big Bear.
Barry: (slightly annoyed) Really?
Iris: Look I know how you feel about Eddie, but Bare he's a really cool guy if you give him a chance. Pleeeeease?!
Barry: I'll try.
Iris: That's all I ask.
Iris leans in and kisses me.
Iris: We should go see my parents then I have to find everyone and talk to them.
Iris and I leave. I followed behind her to her house.
Iris POV:
Barry and I are sitting in the living room with my parents. I could tell Barry was so damn nervous about asking my parents permission to be my boyfriend. I'm nervous for him.Cecile: So are you all packed and ready to go tomorrow Barry?
Barry: I'm not quite done packing yet.
Joe: Well what are you waiting for? You know we're leaving before the sun comes up.
Barry: Yes I know Mr. West.
Cecile: Why do the two of you seem so jittery and nervous, what's going on?
Barry and I look at each other and back at my parents who are clearly waiting for one of us to speak.
Barry: ( clears throat) Mr. and Mrs. West... (Deep sigh) I was wondering if...
Barry stops talking. He's so cute when he's nervous, but I wish there was something I could do to help him.
Joe: If what Barry?
Barry: (nervously) If I could have your permission to date Iris.
My Mom and Dad look at each other then back at Barry and I. They say nothing for about ten minutes. They just stare at us for ten minutes.
Joe: By date her do you mean you want to take her out on a date or you want her to be your girlfriend?
Barry: (gulps and swallows) Both sir.
My parents looks at each other again and back us.
Joe: What do you think honey?
Cecile: I'm not really okay with it so I'm going to have to say no.
Joe: I agree it's a no from me as well.
I felt like everything around me slowed down including time. My heart dropped as tears started to form in my eyes. I looked at Barry who looked at me with a look of shock, sadness and defeat. I look at my parents.
Iris: Mom Da...
Joe: There's nothing left to talk about. Now if you'll excuse us we have some last minute things to finish up before the big trip.
My parents stand and walks out of the room leaving both Barry and I in a complete state of shock. I put my hands over my face and begin to cry. Barry moves closer to me and wraps me in his arms.
A/N: *Until next time my dear Peaches...*
