Pidge x female Reader

three years after the Galra took you and your family the Paladins find you. they keep you around once they realize you are a very good fighter. you were even better than Keith and can take 3 Galra on at a time and win. Allura thinks it would help having someone who can be on the ground could help. she keeps you around.

You and Pidge have gotten close over the past year and you have grown to love her more than a friend. You knew you had no chance though. She was smarter than you were. It is possible that she wanted to be with someone she could geek out with, like Hunk or even lance. You weren't sure she liked girls to begin with.

You sigh and walk to breakfast before you and Pidge had to meet Keith to train. You were even better than Keith was and some times you taught him things. it made you happy that you could help Keith get better. you loved teaching people things. you weren't the best but you were very good. you strive for greatness.

you sat down at the table and Hunk handed you a bowl of food goo. "Thanks love," you said taking a big bite. The others weren't big fans of food goo but it was way better than what the Galra fed you. You shivered at the though of the Galra.

The Galra trapped you for three years and within those three years you had become the best fighter. You even noticed that now you were far more independent than you use to be. You were proud of yourself.

"Hey, are you okay over there?" Lance asked.

you nodded. "Yes, of course i am. i got distracted."

"that's not good." Allura said. you laughed and stood up.

"I meant that i got lost in thought." you placed your bowl in the sink and smiled. "i was reflecting on my life."

you went back to sit in your seat next to Keith and then the lights went out. It was dark. you couldn't see anything but black.

The blood pounded in your ears. Your heart thudded in your chest. Your hands shook. Your feet tingled. You had to get away.

You took a long, slow deep breath, then reached out for the chair, but you found a hand instead.. There. You felt the hand squeeze your hand back and it helped calm me a little bit. they weren't going to leave you. You were out of sight, but not out of mind.. That was all that mattered.

You clutched the hand, your hand wrapped around it so tightly around it that your nails dug into their palms. You were breathing very hard. Really hard. As if you had just finished ran a Marathon.

You could hear muffled shouting, then the lights came back on.

You quickly looked around at everyone and noticed they were looking at you. You look at Keith and let go of his hand. You put your hands on the table and leaned forward and tried to calm your breathing. You took deep breath trying desperately to calm your breathing.

You felt hands rub your shoulders and it helped you relax. Once you got your breathing under control and stood up.

"Are you okay? You weren't talking to us and you were hurting Keith." Pidge said wrapping her arms around you.

"Pidge I'm sorry."

"What happened?" Coran asked.

"Ever since the Galra torturing me and my family I've been scared of the dark." They nodded and you sat down. You put your head in your hands to hide your face that was flushed from embarrassment.

"It's completely understandable. Nobody is going to make fun of you here. We all have something that gets to us." Shiro said.

You groan and rub your face and Pidge grabbed your arms and pulled you up. She lead you through the halls and into her bedroom. She let go of your wrist and sat on her bed.

"I can make you something. Maybe a night light or something."

"Why would you want to make me a nightlight?" You asked.

"Because you need to limit your exposure to light at night so you can sleep better. I can make you a night light that is bright enough that calms your fear but it's dull enough to help you sleep better at night." She said and laughed. "I'm brilliant!"

"Why would you do this for me?"

"Because.... I love you?" She squeaked.

"Awe," you hugged her closely and you knew that she could help calm your fears.
