Skylar

I walked into my apartment. It's been a long day and after fighting and finally stopping whatever romantics I had once again with the love of my life, Ryan. I had been taken with him since junior year when I finally got my braces removed from my mouth and became mildly attractive, a task many have failed, many have succeeded.

My apartment was fairly clean and tidy. The only people I had were people from work sometimes and Ryan, of course.

Immediately, I hear the shower running. That's unusual. The only person courageous enough to use my shower was Ryan, and I just left him at Starbucks.

I began my small descent up to my room and heard a male's voice singing and listening to Black Veil Brides.

"... this is a rebel love song." The voice sang and the shower went off as well as the music.

I opened the door and saw Matt Novikov, a face I haven't seen since the end our senior year. Only, the last time I saw him, he was fully clothed, not nude and dripping with water... or in my shower.

"Um, hello?" I said, covering my eyes. Matt chuckled.

"Hey. I was waiting for you to get home." I felt wetness touch my shoulder and I dropped my coat, still managing to keep my eyes covered.

"Are you dressed yet? And why would you be in my shower?"

"Should I be dressed? I think I am suitable for the events."

"Which would be?" I felt his lower region press against my thigh as his full body weight straddled me to the wall.

"Skylar." My breath hitched in my throat, making me unable to breath a word. "I wish you would look at me." His voice was quiet and calming.

"I would rather you put some clothes on your person before I looked at you." I said, my voice squeaking at the end, cause him to chuckle again. I wish he would stop doing that.

"I'm not going to do that."

"And why not?" My voice was returning to it usual professional manner and I was beginning to sound a little more confident. Of course, at that moment, his lower region became very sharp and pressed deeper into my thigh.

"Because I don't feel like it. I'm actually really comfy. Wanna go to the bed?" I laughed and began shoving him away. Of course, he doesn't budge.

"You haven't exactly established why you are here. I am beginning to feel as if your libido hasn't been satisfied, so you came to me for some unknown reason and now you are planning on using me as a tool that will help you rid yourself of this," I gestured to his lower region, "Little problem."

"Maybe you're right. But in this case, you're very much wrong." Huh? "I came today because I heard you broke it off with Ryan... again. I came to tell you that you are making a mistake, but I got sidetracked." I feel his lips press a small, decent kiss on the corner of my mouth.

"Wait, your reason for being here isn't selfish?"

"Well, not entirely. You're in love with Ryan. And what you two are going through is known as 'a Lover's Spat'. Very common. You two just don't know how to deal with it. Ry Ry would never be unfaithful to you, and thinking so, is really really stupid. He loves you, you love him, you need to forgive him and talk. That's what people in love do. Before ruining the best thing that's ever going to happen to them, they have to deal with the fact that they are meant to be and both wrong in the situation. You understand, right?" I nodded, letting all the information absorb.

He was right.

Matthew Fucking Novikov, a completely moron, was right.

I held in the urge to slide down onto the floor and sob. One: I couldn't cry anymore. Two: Matt was still naked and straddling me to my bathroom wall.

I opened my eyes and looked at Matt, who was studying me with a serious look on his face.

Suddenly, I heard the door open and shut down stairs.

"Sky?" Ry's voice called. I looked back to Matt, who pushed off me, and the wall, and let me go.

"Thanks Matt. I still need to talk to you. Stay here." I opened the bathroom door and rushed out, about to close it when I peeked back in. "And put some damn clothes on." I said, slamming the door shut.

I ran down the stairs and jumped onto Ryan.

"RYAN!" I cried.

"Hey, hey. What's wrong?" I felt tears sliding down my face.

"Ryan, I made a horrible mistake. I'm so sorry. I love you more than anything in the whole world. I don't want to break up with you. Hell, I never want to. I love you and I'm so sorry. I trust you completely and I want nothing more than to wake up in your arms every morning, spend lunches together, come home to you, and fall asleep in your arms, only to wake up in them again the next morning. Please forgive me." I cried, burying my face in his neck.

Ryan's arms snaked around my waist and pulled me closer to him.

"Sky, there's nothing to forgive. You did nothing wrong. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. If anything it's my fau-"

"Don't. It's never your fault. If anything, it's mine. It's my fault for being superstitious."

"I love you, Sky."

"I love you, Ryan." I planted a kiss on his lips, just as I heard footsteps on the stairs.

"Oh good, you two are back together again." Matt said, dropping a book onto the bar. Ryan sent me a suspicious look which I returned by saying,

"Matt's here because-"

"I'm her roommate. She offered me a room and I took it. Don't worry. I'll be out as soon as I get my own place. But chillin' with Sky sounds fun." He winked.

"Oh. Okay then. So I don't have to worry. Well in that case," He turned back to me. "How about we get some dinner?" I nodded.

"Of course. I'll be right there. Let me go change my outfit. My clothes are a little wet." I said, glaring at Matt, who shrugged and started making a peanut butter sandwich.

"I'll be waiting." I received one more kiss from the love of my life, before I was forced to watch him walk out the door.

I then turned to Matt, "I'm going to kill you."

"Guilty. Now go change. I think your pants are worse than your shirt."

Who knew that the guy who saved my relationship was such a dick?
