Chapter 50

Liam’s POV

 

We all finished eating and are heading out of the hospital. Niall wanted to stay with Skylar but we can all tell he is exhausted and we persuaded him to come with us. We all choose to go back to Louis and Eleanor’s place to hang out.

We all drove separate cars except Niall came with me because he took a taxi here. The drive was dead silent and I could tell that Niall wasn’t only tired, he knows something that he’s not telling us. “You alright mate?” I ask him “Yeah, just tired” He replies just as I knew he would. I don’t push it, I just hope he’ll tell us when he’s ready.

I pull up at Louis and Eleanor’s place and everyone is already here. We jump out of the car and walk into the apartment. Everyone was sprawled between the lounge room and the kitchen. Niall goes to join Lauren, Zayn and Louis on the couch while I go see Eleanor in the kitchen.

“Hey El” I say and she replies with a smile. “Something is bothering Niall” I tell her as I start helping her cut up some cheese and lay out some biscuits. “His girlfriend was just in a major car accident, you can only expect that” She says “ No that’s not what I mean, like his found out something and wont tell us” I say explaining myself further, “Oh, yeah I noticed that while we were at the Café” Eleanor says.

We walk back into the lounge room and join the others. I put the plate of snacks on the coffee table in the centre of the room. “Where is Christine?” Zayn asks “She went back to her hotel, she’s got jetlag” Louis said. Everyone was quietly chatting with on another but Niall sat with his head down at his phone but the screen wasn’t on.

“The police came and spoke to me today, when I went up to Sky’s room to grab my phone” Niall spoke and everyone went silent, no one replied we just waited for Niall to continue what he was saying. “They found out how the accident was caused” He says with a shaky voice and we can tell he is on the verge of tears.

“How did it happen” I dared to ask. “She was on the phone and it was raining, she lost control of the car and slid into on coming traffic” He explains and we all gasp. “Who was she on the phone too! That idiot caused this” Zayn said but Niall stayed quiet and then we all realised it was Niall who was on the phone to Skylar when it happened and Louis gave Zayn a small hit on the shoulder.

“I’m so sorry man” Zayn quickly says. We all move closer to Niall and surround him with a big group hug. By this time he is in tears along with a few of us. “I could of killed her” He says quietly “I couldn’t be able to live with myself I had” He says ‘But you didn’t, she’s alive and doing pretty well considering” Eleanor speaks. We all give Niall a few words of comfort. “I don’t know how im going to tell Christine, I almost killed her daughter” He says.

“Lets not worry about that just yet” Louis says “Excuse me” Lauren says and gets up and leaves the room, Eleanor quickly follows her.

Lauren’s POV

When did life get so messed up? Things were going so well. Once Niall told us I had to remove myself from the group but I heard footsteps behind me, I immediately thought it was Zayn so I walked a little faster. I had no idea where I was going but I needed to find a room.

I find a room, looks to be there bed room and I quickly close the door behind me, “Loz” I heard Eleanor’s voice at the door and I am very relieved its not Zayn, I don’t think I could deal with him right now. “Come in” I say in a deflated tone and see her come in.

“babe whats up?” she says as she takes a seat next to me on the bed. “Its not Nialls fault, its mine. Its Zayn’s I don’t know its defiantly not Niall’s” I say “what do you mean?” El asks

“If Zayn hadn’t cheated on me I wouldn’t of left Australia and the Skylar wouldn’t of come back to the UK after me, Niall wouldn’t of had to call her and we wouldn’t be in this mess” I explain

“No, no, no don’t think that, its no ones fault it was just a case of being unlucky” El says but I honestly have no words, I just break down in tears. Eleanors arms wrap around me for comfort but right now I just need peace of mind. Zayn storms into the room “Lauren are you okay?” he asks “Im fine” I say “You cant be stressed, its bad for you and the baby” he says and I don’t know why but I snap.

“ZAYN! THE BABY IS GOING TO DIE, ITS JUST AN INCONVIENCE FOR ALL OF US SO CUT THE CRAP” as soon as I say it I regret it, this Is still my child and I love it no matter what. “im so sorry” I say. “No, I get it” Zayn says and walks out. Moments later I here the front door slam. zayn left.
