The Move

I packed up the rest of my things into the back of my truck ready for the long drive north to Nashville.
"Mama are you sure your going to be ok, I can always stay" I said
"Baby I swear if you don't get in that truck and follow your dreams I won't be responsible for my actions" she laughed
"I take that as a yes" I said hugging her right.
"I will come visit as soon as you are settled and don't let them country singers walk all over y'all you hear me" she said
"I won't mama, plus I will be working for Kerrie so
Not directly dealing with them" I smiled
"Ok baby safe travels and call me as soon as you arrive ok" she said as she hugged me tight
As I drove I looked in the rear view and the tears fell. I was going to miss her but I needed to do this or I will regret it for the rest of my life. Kerrie has arranged for me to stay with her until my place is ready to move into. I should arrive at hers in around 6 hours time depending on traffic. I didn't start as her assistant until Monday which gave me the weekend to get my bearings.
Six and a half hours later I arrived at Kerries place which was just on the outskirts of Nashville. Whoa this place was huge, I knew she had a good job but this place was awesome. I pulled into the drive and Kerrie came to the door
"Lexi, I'm so happy to see you. How was the drive"
She said hugging me
"Long but I'm so happy to be here thank you for this opportunity it's once in lifetime" I smiled
"No problem, come on in and I will get James to get your stuff" she said as she guided me into the most beautiful house ever
"Kerrie this place is amazing" I said
"Yeah I couldn't believe that this place came with the job. Luke is such a great boss" she said
"I bet he is. I'm actually nervous to meet him" I said
"Don't be He is a big pussy cat" she laughed
"Well I will find out Monday. So do you want to go through want it is you would like me to do for you" I said
"Yes but let's get some dinner first you must be starving"
