"Umm" we say in sequence. I roll off of him and help him up. "That was...... strange" Jeremy says helping me pick up clothes and put them in the basket. "Yea" I say "sorry I should have been paying attention". He chuckles. "Its okay".... "hey let me take this" Jeremy says taking the basket. Woah I think to myself. That's the most I ever heard him talk. He never speaks. Last time I was here he barley spoke a sentence to me. I walk into Alexis's room. " Oh my god what took you so long" Alexis says. "I was talking to Jeremy" I sit down. "WHAT" Alexis gasps "my brother Jermey talked to you"? "Like he actually said words"?! "It's a miracle". We laugh.

The party was fun.  We carved pumpkins, played games, ate food, sat by the fire etc. Alexis left for her soccer game, everyone else filled the basement and living room the watch the Red Sox game. I felt cluttered so I snuck off into Alexis's room. Sometime later when I was on my phone there was a knock on the door. "Hello" I say. Jeremy walks in. "Hey" he says. "Hi" I say still looking at my phone. By his body language I can tell that he is nervous. He sits at the edge of the bed twiddling his fingers. "You good" I ask. "Yea" he says "I just got a lot on my mind". "I can be your venting buddy" I crawl up next to him. We end up talking for hours about life, about our goals, about our problems. It was a wonderful conversation. "Jeremy" I say playing with his blonde curls, his head is on my stomach. "I kind of like you". "What" he says. " I lowkey have had a crush on you for a few years now" I look down. In the room there's silence. My heart sinks. So this is what rejection feels like. Suddenly Jeremy grabs my hand. He moves closer to me, we look eachother in the eyes and then "Peck"! He turns red like a tomato, shit if I was white I would too.
