Chapter 18

Bang bang shots fire and everyone scatters. Parisa, Sebastien, Christian, Keisha and I run for our lives. We laugh when we get in front of Keisha's house. We go inside and sit on the couch. ¨Sigh nothing new¨ I say. ¨Yea we all know these summer parties are wild¨ Keisha says. ¨I can't believe we will be apart for 3 months¨ Parisa frowns. ¨And Kaylynn you wanna be boujie and go to a art camp¨. I chuckle. ¨Shut up my mom signed me up for that shit. I don't even wanna go because I have to leave Ayala but my mom is forcing me¨. ¨Oh yea I forgot you have a kid¨ Sebastien laughs. ¨Well good¨ I say ¨because you talk too much and I don't need the whole school knowing that i have a daughter¨.

3 long months later a few days before school I am back home. I give Ayala the biggest hug and kiss. I spend my first day back with Ayala and my next day with Parisa. "Where is Keisha, Sebastian and Christian" I ask. "Oh we dropped Christian", Keisha comes out of the bathroom. "What" I raise my eyebrows. "During the summer he started acting mad different" Parisa says. "He didn't wanna hang with us, then he started spreading rumors". "So we decided to keep the negative out of our crew", Keisha nods. "What", "maybe he was going through something... we should talk to him" I insist. "Nah b" Sebastian comes downstairs "he said some fucked up shit, you don't wanna talk to him".

When I got back to school I was so excited. I am now a sophomore. I noticed when I walked in people were staring at me more than usual but I didn't think anything of it..or at least until I saw my locker vandalized. "WHORE, HOE, SLUT" were some of the words on there. As I walk away I overhear someone say "how she got a baby at 15" and then I heard someone else say "I heard she gave top to Chris too".  My heart drops. He told.
