Chapter 19

Scared and betrayed I sit in the bathroom crying. To make things worst I only have one day left with Jeremy until he goes to college in France. After that we are officially broken up. I spend the rest of the .day aggregated and quiet. Me and Christian made eye contact once today but he quickly looked away. At the end of the day I was walking home pissed when a car honked at me. I turned around and a big red cadillac pulled up next to me. The driver was Tony, Christian's brother. "Kaylynn" Tony says his hispanic accent strong. "It's been a while". "Didn't you like kill somebody" I say "when did you get out". "They had no proof babygirl" he takes a hit from his blunt "I got out over the summer". "Hmm" I hum. "I know you going through some shit" Tony continues "here" he says handing me a big wad of cash, "for the little princess". My eyes get big. "Tony I- I cant take this from you". "Well you don't really have a choice" he smiles before driving away. Sooooo I think to myself, no one was gonna tell me the fucking drug lord and gang leader of this city was back in town... cool. I put the money in my bag and go home. Later on at home my mom is at work, Aiden is glued to his Ps4 and Ayala and I are watching "Pepa Pig" when I hear my bedroom window opening. I immediately jump up, pick up Ayala and put her outside of my room by the door. Then I walk over to the window.

"I should really push you out of the fucking window" I roll my eyes. The window lifts all the way up and Christian jumps into my room. "Kaylynn i'm sorry" he grabs my hand but I yank it back. "No" I say "everyone knows.. it was supposed to stay a fucking secret". "I know" Christian sighs. "I'm sorry I truly am, I only did it to protect you". "PROTECT ME FROM WHAT" I yell. "TONY" Christian yells back. I sit down on my bed shocked. "He wanted to get at you, possibly sell you so I told him you had a kid. That didn't change his mind so I had to tell him about us". "Chris" I say, "thank you". "Also" Christian pauses "I'm in the gang". "Huh" I sit up straight. "I'm in the gang" Christian repeats. "Tony got me in". I begin to cry. "Kaylynn" Christian rubs my back "it's okay". "You're gonna die" I say. "I don't want you to die". Christian stares at me before grabbing my face and kissing me. We make out until Ayala begins to cry because I wouldn't let her back in my room. I pick Ayala and Chris gives me one more kiss before jumping out the window. I jump into my bed lay down and say "the life I live".
