This past week I have been able to duck and dodge Jason. I haven't been feeling any better and my period still hasn't come. This is some bullshit. Earlier today I stole a pregnancy test so now i'm sitting on the floor in the bathroom waiting. 3 minutes later the timer goes off. "Oh dear God please let it be negative", I pray. I open my eyes. Instant tears. "Fuck" I sob. Kara comes into the bathroom. "Oh my gosh Kaylynn is what's wrong"? She runs to me and holds me. She sees the pregnancy test and gasps. "You and Jeremy are having a baby", she asks. "No" I wipe tears from my face, it's Jason's baby".
Kara stares at me shocked as I continue to sob. "Kaylynn" Kara frowns "what happened"? I tell her everything from the beginning and she cries. "Kaylynn I'm so sorry". Her cries turn into rage when I lift up my shirt and she sees my whole torso black and blue. I would show her the big scar on my face but that would be a lot of work to over back up. "IMMA FUCK HIM UP" she storms out of the bathroom. "Kara no" I run after her.
She caused a whole scene and our family was called. Kara and I told the whole story. She said the things that were too traumatic for me to say. My mom cries "how could someone do this too my baby". She hugs me and Kara rubs my back. Then I pass my mom the pregnancy test.
BOOM! Jason's door gets banged down. Yasmine screams and Mason cries as my uncle beats the shit out of Jason. My mother told the whole family which I specifically told her not to do so all my uncles are going crazy and everyone is calling me. I hate that sympathetic shit. If I never fucked with him this wouldn't have happened, if I never wore the things I wore, did the things I did this wouldn't have happened. I did so many things wrong.
i don't know how the word spread but it did and Jeremy is at the bottom of the steps and I'm at the top of the porch again. "So" he says, his hands in his pockets "you're pregnant"? I nod my head yes. "Are you okay" he walks up on the porch. I begin to cry. We sit on the porch and he holds and rocks me. "What are you going to do about the baby" he asks. I think for a while, "I'm gonna keep it".
